vibe. Something intricate and stylistic with the
drums, yet balanced with the melodies and atmospheres
provided by the synthesizers in each track.
As a whole, the idea is about human emotion and
a most basic human desire to be loved and to love
and to push further into discovering more than
what is simply in front of our eyes...a sort of
human evolutionary event. You'll note,
these songs are not of my usual nature...
as in dark and heavy tunes...more of a

Part 2 of the ‘Drifting…’ trilogy of releases, ‘Keys For A Drifting Rose EP’ is the fourth release on Codename: RCRDS, the new label from Southampton-based jungle, 160 and atmospheric crew Codename: Amen. 

Keys For A Drifting Rose commences with ‘The One’ by the atmos master Okee, a dreamy inward looking roller for the ages, alternating haunting vocals perfectly capturing feelings of post-rave isolation. Man of the moment Mineral returns to the label with ‘Shallow’, contrasting chopped breaks, atmospheric tones and deep rumbling basses in a beautiful example of his truly unique sound.

Next up we find the prolific NonRev in commanding form, with the mysterious and powerful roller ‘Private Eye’, perfectly primed to get dancefloors moving with it’s rumbling basslines, intricate drum edits and catchy vocals, before the EP closes with Bottoni's fascinating reworking of ‘Shallow’, where a half-time rhythm is interspersed with the breakbeat choppage and atmospherics of Mineral’s original, clearly demonstrating the talents of this unique and talent artist.

What stirs beyond the lattice of perception is the residue of becoming. Lines blur. Boundaries dissolve. Continuity reveals itself as rhythm. Uneven, recursive, singing through the folds of unbeing.

A shimmer glides between sensation and intuition, a pulse threading unspoken symmetry through the void. Shapes do not hold. Everything leans inward, inward still, into an intimacy that eclipses knowing.

There is no depth here. Only layers of translucence collapsing into one another. Light that is but the memory of direction; movement that occurs without distance. The edges of all things, ideas, objects, selves eroding into suggestion. Meaning coagulates, not in symbols, but in pressure, in heat, in the curl of an unasked question.

It coils, infinite and folding back upon itself, revealing structure in disarray, harmony in rupture.

To linger in this is to feel the scaffolding of what-is quiver. What one calls real loosens, shedding its skin. There is no return, only integration. A slow seep. The pattern seeps through, into the marrow, the thought, the glance. And though no name survives the passage, its imprint does.

A tremble. A spiral. A hush where language falls short. And beneath it all, something vast continues, indifferent to clarity, but rich with invitation. 

Deathly impossible to resist.
