Orbite/Frequenze (disquiet0272)

I sampled my everyday alarm clock (from my phone) into the Op-1, and then I started experimenting.
It's not recognizable but I also sampled my son crying (sometimes it's my alarm clock...) and I made a glitch percussion with it.
I worked on the loops using Blocs Wave (iOS) and I added other sounds, then I recorded all back into the TE machine and I finished the track.

Broken Sound (disquiet0274)

I programmed a somewhat complex pattern on Patterning, using the 1982 soundpack (808 alike), with advices from Eno's Oblique Strategies and a little bit of randomness.
I used two instances of Troublemaker AU (303 kind of) midi controlled by four different Patterning's tracks.
Then I processed the single tracks with different fx in AUM, where I also used a number of mix busses for groups of similar sounds (blocks & chains?) blended with Klevgrand fx apps as Haaze and PressIt and eventually VirSyn AudioReverb.
Finally I "played live" the beat with the AUM faders and mute/unmute.

I mangle some samples of field recordings (fire, water etc.) in iDensity then i chopped the results in Blocs Wave and I recorded all onto the Op-1 as samples
I used the Op fx, sequencers, mixer and the tape machine for other manipulations. 
I recorded a live tweaking in Audacity and I added voice recordings from Carmelo Bene, Lydia Lunch & Richard Kern and the "1984" film and another track with the same voices and the Harsh Noise Generator from Kinetik Laboratories.

The word chosen with a little help from a dice it's "HOW":

A little bit as Berio (insert shameless face here) in the piece "Thema - Omaggio a Joyce" I choose to use french, english and italian languages, speaking either by female and male voices.

"HOW":
In italian it's "come" or "quanto",
In French it's "comment" or "que".

I sampled these words from female and male voices (thanks to iSpeech TTS app) into the OP-1 and then I made some experimentation.
I recorded the results into the combo AUM/AudioShare and added effects to the single voices.

Finally I used AUM as a looper and I play an impro with start/stop and volume faders.

I did an acid techno thang with cassette tapes and Ableton...

I sampled various snippets of jams on my tape deck and then I mangled these into Live,

There’s a little bit of Grendel Drone Commander, OP-1 and a couple of drum loops made with Patterning.
Also some great samples from Samples from Mars and a 303 alike incursion from Troublemaker iOS app.

Appa

Second episode of “kassettechno”,

For this one I made some tape loops with various material
(drones from Kinetik Laboratories devices, some noises from Erich Archer’s Andromeda Space Rockers etc.)
I recorded from the cassette deck into Ableton for further manipulation and I added some samples too.

So I made a sort of mastering into the Marantz CP-430, hitting into red with the meters and using the built in limiter.
Finally I re-recorded into Live with a little pitching down courtesy from the Marantz.

ｓＳＩＨ

I prepared a couple of tape loops with material recorded from a jam with a Leploop some years ago (filtered by the Oto Biscuit right before the tape deck’s ins), then I recorded into Ableton.

I prepared another pair of loops with Blocs Wave app on my iPad and processed the results with the Biscuit, then I put the audio inside Live.

In Live I chopped/arranged the pieces into a track that I re-recorded onto the tape deck (in the red with the limiter on) for a primitive cassette compression.
Finally I played it with a little pitching down from the marantz to the laptop.
