This mix revolves around a lifelong obsession with UK soundsystem culture, radio and the hardcore continuum. The older I’ve gotten the more I look at DJ’ing as a medium for storytelling, connecting worlds and sharing history and culture. This selection of sounds is less DJ mix and more a sound collage and shows my roots and influences that’s shaped my own music productions. It collects the sound of my younger years Dj’ing and dancing around Sydney and fuses my own music productions under several alias including Gentleforce and BUSHRANGER. This is the sound of UK bass music colliding with warmer Australian landscapes, sine waves meeting birdsong and mother nature fusing with radio frequencies. It pulls together all of these influences and tells the story of who I am now and what I want to share with you the listener. Much love xo

New World Meditations - Volume 1

Gentleforce is the ambient solo project by Sydney based sound artist Eli Murray. His work is based in the worlds of field recordings and meditational synth music, with a focus on psychogeography and its interaction between the natural environment, spatial histories and the emotional impact these have on the individual. Fusing these concepts with his love of traditional ceremonial music from around the world and the influence of his many years of djing at clubs has created a unique melting pot of sounds to submerged the listener within.
