Montreal based DJ and producer Ostrich debuts on Sublease Music with a double a-side release. Ostrich has already carved a path as a DJ and producer, pushing a minimalistic sound that pulls from downtempo, dub, deep house and techno.

Double Dribble, the title track provides an infectious bassline and airy pads floating on a super tight rhyhtm-section.

In contrast, his second track, Too Dumb To Succumb The Drum focusses on a driving multi layered drum pattern with a wobbling bass and synthie stabs winding their way through, before turning into a futuristic deep house cut.

London based James Dexter returns to Sublease for a stellar remix of Double Dribble. Synth-melodies and housey pads ride on a seriously heavy punching beat setting.

We're thrilled to share the next piece featuring Guy From 1990. A DJ, producer, and key player inspired by the late 80s / early 90s House, Acid, and Garage sounds. An iconic figure of the underground scene in Lisbon, who heavily contributed through the mythical ELA & House Mouse events, and also Oxigénio and SBSR FM radio shows.

'Deep In Marvila' brings both nostalgia and innovation. As the name suggests, Marvila area is where the parties took place, under the esteemed underground movement ELA (East Lisbon Afters) of which Miguel, aka Guy From 1990 is part.

All this sense of belonging and effusive feeling inspired Miguel to craft the classic house roots of 'Feel It', the depth and groove of 'Deep in Marvila', and the instant acid-connection of two days in the studio with Larry Quest on 'Been Appart'.

Thelema Recordings is thrilled to announce the release of "Replicants EP", the latest project from the talented DJ and producer Joaqui, hailing from Extremadura, Spain. This EP is set to make waves in the electronic music scene with its exclusive colored vinyl release. Available in a stunning mix of blue, white, and black colors, the vinyl features the mesmerizing patterns created during the pressing process, making it a unique collector's item.

Joaqui, who has music running through his veins as the son of a professional drummer, has been an influential figure in the electronic music world since 2002. His journey has seen him share the stage with both national and international heavyweights like Dj Lord (Public Enemy), Fátima Hajji, Takaaki Itoh, and Technasia, among many others. With performances at prestigious festivals like WOMAD and residencies at iconic venues across Spain, Venezuela, and the UK, Joaqui's experience is vast and varied.

The "Replicants EP" takes inspiration from the futuristic themes of "Blade Runner," with each track echoing the film's cinematic tension and atmospheric depth. Opening with "Roy Batty Cries Tears in Rain," the EP captures the emotional intensity of the film's iconic scene, driven by haunting melodies and a powerful techno rhythm. "Rachael Has to Escape" follows with an urgent and pulsating beat, reflecting the desperation of the character.

Side B introduces "Tyrell Corporation," a darker, more industrial soundscape that perfectly captures the ominous aura of the film's central corporation. The EP closes with "November 2019," a nod to the movie's setting, blending nostalgic elements with Joaqui's signature electro-techno fusion.

Joaqui's expertise as a sound engineer, coupled with his certification in Ableton Live and an extensive discography on labels like Plexic Records, FenixFire, Dark Distorted Signal and Mona Records, shines through in every detail of this EP. As a key figure in the electronic music scene, Joaqui continues to push boundaries and innovate with every release.
