i love how it subtly and progressively gets louder at the beginning. it gently introduces itself istead of just being like BAM HERE I AM. that's an awesome technique.

August 2025 marks a milestone for Chris Guillotine.

Two years, one mantra: Just make music.

That's how Chris Guillotine has quickly built up a vault of tracks which are currently on being played by some of the most forward thinking DJs in bass music (Verraco, Sir Hiss, Axle, Oblig, Syz, Fearless Dread, Mia Koden, J:Kenzo)

For the Light Years EP, we pull back the curtain with three atmospheric and experimental tracks to give just a glimpse into the broader scope of Chris Guillotine, showing that "impactful" transcends the dance floor.

Avec "Mr Sexobreak", J.Deere 420 pose la genèse de son projet : un mélange électrique d'énergies coupées au cordeau. La track est une fusion audacieuse qui combine pads ambiants trippy, phases breakbeat percutantes, des touches trancy mélancoliques, et surtout, un saxophone saturé de reverb et de delay. 

Ce titre représente le cœur de la direction artistique de J.Deere 420 : emmener l'auditeur dans plusieurs directions distinctes. Il s'agit de mixer plusieurs énergies, généralement deux ambiances, coupées au milieu par un break ou des FX transitionnels. Ce que l'artiste recherche avant tout, c'est l'élément surprise, le cachet inattendu qui vient enrichir la narration du morceau.

L'artiste a trouvé l'inspiration immédiatement après une marche sur la côte, en lançant le logiciel avec une idée bien précise. Sa fenêtre donnant sur la rade de Brest est une source d'inspiration constante, invitant à composer des tracks mélancoliques. Côté inspirations, l'artiste Zouave (notamment sa track "Casarider") l'a beaucoup inspiré pour l'ajout du saxophone. Quant aux éléments trancy et deep, ils sont un hommage à sa mère, qui écoutait beaucoup d'ambient durant son enfance.
