Searching for a pleasing sound and a beautiful aura, she found a place of love, community, kindness, psychedelic connections and space. This is how MISAKI's journey has begun. Psychedelic Connection is a psytrance compilation that she has edited with all her heart and with the special collaboration of many Artists and Friends, met while travelling around the world. It is a series of works which contain a range of music from edgy night tracks to morning psychedelic tunes that drive on a trip from dark sketchy vibe to daytime positive lights. This Matsuri Digital episode features DJ SOLITARE, who says about this mix: "When Tsuyoshi invited me to prepare a compilation for Matsuri Digital, it was a dream come true as the label’s legendary anthologies had been a major influence on me during my formative years in the scene in the 90s. Front and foremost was a desire to produce something aligned with these now fabled releases: a range of musical styles with different sound signatures, pacing, character, and atmospheres.  In my conversations with Tsuyoshi about the theme of the release, some of what came forward was how unexpected and unanticipated everything was back in our early experiences in the scene: nothing could be predicted but it was all so amazing and we loved it all, and that’s what made it so extraordinary. It then occurred to me that the inner state related to this was one of having no expectations: no one expected to find this music or scene, and at our first parties we could never anticipate what the music or the party would be like, but over time, as we became familiar, expectations could limit our appreciation and interface with the music.  My hope with this compilation has been to present an array of tracks that express some of the varied musical flavours that were part of the psychedelic journeys in those halcyon days, moving beyond familiar rigid musical structures and beyond any expectation in the form of personal preferences so we can remember just how magical that state of simply enjoying mystical, otherworldly music can be.  For this mix, I’ve presented all of the tracks from the release in a different order than they appear on the compilation to showcase these brilliant productions in a new light."
