This new piece is part of a continuing project I've been working on for solo piano called "Heroism is Tragedy". In this part, entitled "Tragedy" I try to capture the frustration, anger, and languishing hope we have all shared this past year, hearing about or directly experiencing the tragedies of this pandemic. I want to dedicate this piece to my amazing wife Genevieve, who has been on the front lines as a paramedic; she and so many others have struggled more than I can ever imagine. I hope I have captured these emotions in the song so we can share in them and heal together with music. Stay safe everyone, we're almost through this!

This song is about the misery and blackness that we all encounter in life sometimes, but it's also about the healing and light that inevitably balances our experiences. Sometimes we have to feel pain to notice pleasure; and in this story, Oizys & Aceso are pulling the strings.
