Our next guest for our Howlin' radio show on WAV is the ever friendly Basso from @growingbinrecords. In his own words:

Basso is a part time romantic who grows his own vegetables. Some says he’s an Eccentric. Who knows? We know that he used to be an artist, spending his days drawing awkward forms and making sculptures, sound installations and performances. In the nights he used to dj a lot. Sometimes even bi or tri-weekly (That was when he was younger – late 90s, to be precise.

Now he’s doing it occasionally only, but it’s way more fun. One thing we can say for sure is that he really likes buying records. Lots. Maybe that’s why he needs to sell some. www.growingbinrecords.com. He actually likes music THAT much, so he puts out stuff that gives him goosebumps. All these records are ace ;).  To write about the mix he recorded for the Howlin’ bros he needs to switch from third person to first.

Everybody loves playing with new toys and so do I. The mix is drawn around some songs that I discovered recently plus some rediscoveries of songs that have been sleeping in the shelves for a while. The second song is one of these. I fell in love with it a couple of years ago but then forgot about it again. The affection is even stronger now :).  In general I wanted to give the mix an Indian summer vibe. I have thought about sheep grazing. But after hearing those Little Fluffy Clouds (maybe 35 minutes in) I wanted to dance a bit too. And rap along!

"And Breathe," the debut Dub Techno album by Sephirot, invites you to lose yourself in a hypnotic auditory journey that seamlessly blends rich atmospherics and binaural field recordings with fathomless kinetic pulses straight from the darkest dance floor.  Drawing inspiration from the pioneers of Dub Techno, Sephirot's weaves echoes of legendary figures like Basic Channel and Rhythm & Sound into his compositions. Yet, his distinctive fusion of haunting soundscapes and oceanic baselines alongside more contemporary elements pays just as much homage to UK pioneers like Burial, creating an compelling convergence of Berlin's club culture and the innovative styles that have emerged in the UK over the past two decades.

Within each track, Sephirot's compositions echo the ebb and flow of the tides, with serene moments intertwining with pulsating crescendos, offering moments of introspection and dancefloor euphoria in equal measure. One minute degraded dub chords are interwoven with intricate hocketed patterns and captivating two-step hi-hats, the next vast new spaces are conjured with dense layers of sound recalling Ambient innovators such as William Basinski and Taylor Deupree, as much as they do late nights from Bristol to Detroit.  Throughout, “And Breathe’s” diverse tracks become gateways to different parts of this journey, from the shimmering textures of “Zero Zone”, to the driving mechanical rhythms and barely glimpsed duduk melodies of “And Again (One for Pie Eye)”, to the spring reverb drenched title track, and even "Frog Galaxy" blunted and skittering rhythms, each composition draws you a little deeper into the album’s magnetic pull.

"And Breathe" finds its home on Natural Expressions, the sister label of Drift Deeper - a hallowed sanctuary for seekers of sublime electronic discoveries. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur of Dub Techno or a curious voyager of uncharted musical territories, “And Breathe” is a rewarding album that bears repeated listening.

Mats Nilsson discusses how his travels around the world led him to reconsider many of the official and false narratives that are typically espoused in the West. He describes his unique way of attempting to persuade commoners as to how politics really works. He is under no illusion regarding oligarchy in Beijing and Moscow, but believes Washington's hegemony is the most dangerous, and he currently supports the coming multipolar world. In the future he might be complaining about Eurasia, it's geopolitics, things change. We are in a pre-1914 scenario where momentum is building for another unnecessary war desired by the elites and no one is attempting to look for an off-ramp. America is getting too old to be able to dominate the globe. He hopes greed will help avoid WW3 because governments could potentially nationalize industry which would distress the BlackRock's of the world. Elites are in danger of overshooting the mark. The Algorithm Ghetto is a real possibility. We must keep speaking truth to power.
