Early last year, I saw a post on Instagram about a casual acquaintance who was verbally harassed and followed by a man on her way home. A few weeks later one of my friends came into uni after being tricked, taken to a strangers house, and almost sexually assualted. One of my friends has been sexually assaulted. 

It is unfortunately completely unbelievable and totally believable to me how often this is happening to those I know, let alone the vast majority that I don’t.

It is terrifying to contemplate the sheer amount of times this happens and leaves victims feeling so hopeless, guilty and scared that they never tell anybody. I admire anyone who can tell their story.

This is a song I wrote called “Home”, as an outsider observing and listening to the stories.
