EMEX is the emergent techno project of George Apergis who is the owner of Modular Expansion. George Apergis is an established techno DJ, with a career of more than 20 years in electronic and techno music. His first release was for Omega Audio in 2005 and after that followed releases and remixes in labels such us Bellboy, LCR, Paranoid Dancer, Sabotage and many more. He performs already in 2002 at the legendary old Tresor in Berlin. His releases “Quelle” and “Ekhowax” on Modular Expansion with remixes from artists like Truncate, Zadig and Johanness Volk were highly successful and they have been supported from worldwide artists. 
In 2014 George Apergis creates EMEX; an emergent techno project which his signatures sound is an eminent mix of hard techno beats, minimal acid synth-lines and dub chords. EMEX has releases on Modular Expansion, Etruria Beat, Credo, Syxt, Demarcation and Konsequent Records. EMEX has released already five vinyls on Modular Expansion. In 2015 released its debut vinyl, which entitled "00110001", which was powered by Korg Syntiesizers and won the Silver Award at European Design Awards. Follow the releases of "Z80A", "Hyperion" with Studio416, "Zex" and "Mimas" on Modular Expansion along-side with the releases on Etruria Beat of Luca Agnelli, Credo Records of Alex Bau, on Syxt Berlin and Demarcation Records. In 2019 released a bomb remix on Bastian Balders - Jukka on legendary Konsequent Records.
EMEX music has been remixed by artists like Alexander Kowalski, Brian Sanhaji, Subjected, Radial, Slv and Developer. Also, EMEX music has been supported by world-class artists such as Chris Liebing, Marcel Dettmann, Luke Slater, Tommy Four Seven, DVS1, Rødhåd, Jeroen Search, Jonas Kopp, Bas Mooy, The Advent, Ilario Alicante, Slam, Snts, Jeff Rushin to name but a few. 
EMEX aka George Apergis plays dj-sets only with vinyls and has performed already alongside artists such as The Advent, Drumcell, Monoloc, Truncate, Terence Fixmer, Ø [Phase], Shifted, Answer Code Request, Subjected, Brian Sanhaji, Distant Echoes, Psyk, Kevin De Vries, Ness and many more. The results of EMEX success are the performances at Berghain, Tresor, Suicide Circus, Sisyphos, the legendary Clubs in Berlin, Rashõmon and Städlin in Rome and at the most prestigious clubs in Athens.

As part of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture’s 2024 program “All of Greece, One Culture”, Modular Expansion organized “Phygital”, an immersive event showcasing live audiovisual performances. These performances blended digital and physical-analog musical instruments, complemented by digital projection. The event took place at Rio Castle in collaboration with the Greek National Opera and the Archaeological Service.
The Phygital event is structured into three distinct live music performances of contemporary electronic music artists George Apergis and Alex Retsis, alongside simultaneous digital artwork projections by the artistic group DEN. This includes visual haikus, a collage of brief micro-compositions combining instrumental and synthetic forms, connected by a deconstructive and unpredictable storytelling.
In the first hour, the audience had the experience of a digital live music performance by Qebo (Alex Retsis), featuring a blend of electroacoustic and ambient music inspired by the architecture of the castle. The second hour highlights the EMEX project by George Apergis and Alex Retsis, blending physical-analog instruments with digital technology to offer a dynamic interplay between digital and analog sounds. The final hour was dedicated to an analog live performance where George Apergis will exclusively use vinyl records. George Apergis is an established techno artist with a career more than 20 years. He is also known as EMEX and he is the founder of Modular Expansion which is based in Athens & Berlin. After his highly successful releases of 'Quelle' & 'Ekhowax' on Modular Expansion, he strikes back after eight years with a solo compact release 'Waxtrax EP'. First track 'Hey Hey' is a perfect groovy club tool with an old-school voice, an instant hit! Second one is 'Dubwax', a minimal dub techno track with Detroit and Berlin influence, evolving pads, dub chords and stabs, subby basses that give the characteristic sound of George Apergis. The third track 'Ekhotrax' is a hypnotic hard kicker theme with dark atmospheres, minimal synth lines followed by trippy arpeggios. The release is closing with a remix of the classic 'Medusa', one of the early first George Apergis releases in 2005. Under his EMEX moniker George transforms 'Medusa' to a hard kicker track with rave synth lines, percussive rhythms that goes beyond a pumping futuristic version and creates a perfect rave tool.

George Apergis is an established techno DJ, with a career of more than 20 years. He is also known as  EMEX and he is the founder of Modular Expansion records & Εvents. Since 2013, he curates the “Modular Expansion Podcast” series that features a premier list of international artists and received widespread recognition. 
George Apergis has releases and remixes in labels such us Made of Concrete, Bellboy, LCR, Paranoid Dancer, Omega Audio and many more. His releases “Quelle” - “Ekhowax” and “Waxtrax:“on Modular Expansion were highly successful and they have been supported from worldwide artists. In 2020 released “The Abduction of Europa EP” together with his long time friend Alexander Kowalski on Made of Concrete. His music has been remixed by international artists like Truncate, Zadig, Dave Tarrida, Johannes Volk, NX1, Lee Holman, to name but a few. 
EMEX aka George Apergis plays dj-sets only with vinyls and has performed already alongside artists such as The Advent, Drumcell, Monoloc, Truncate, Terence Fixmer, Ø [Phase], Shifted, Answer Code Request, Subjected, Brian Sanhaji, Distant Echoes, Psyk, Kevin De Vries, Ness and many more. He has performed in many clubs in Europe, such as the legendary Berghain, Sisyphos, Suicide Circus and Tresor in Berlin, Werkhaus in London, Moog and Macarena in Barcelona, Rashõmon and Städlin in Rome, clubs in Warsaw, Moscow and the most prestigious clubs & festivals in Greece.
In 2014 George Apergis creates EMEX; an emergent techno project which his signatures sound is an eminent mix of hard techno beats, minimal acid synth-lines and dub chords. EMEX has releases on Modular Expansion, Etruria Beat, Syxt, Denude, Credo, Demarcation and Konsequent. EMEX has released five vinyls on Modular Expansion. In 2015 released its debut vinyl powered by KORG, which entitled "00110001" and won the Silver Award at European Design Awards. Follow the releases of "Z80A", "Hyperion", "Zex" and "Mimas" on Modular Expansion. In 2019 did a bomb remix on Bastian Balders - Jukka on Konsequent records. . 
EMEX music has been remixed by artists like Alexander Kowalski, Brian Sanhaji, Subjected, Radial, SLV, Progression and Developer. Also, EMEX and George Apergis music has been supported by world-class artists such as Chris Liebing, Marcel Dettmann, Luke Slater, Tommy Four Seven, DVS1, Rødhåd, Jonas Kopp, Bas Mooy, The Advent, Ilario Alicante, Slam, Dax J, SNTS to name but a few.
