Lose Control

dans le recueil "à la lumière d'hiver", Philippe Jacottet, cet immense poète, a écrit un poème en 8 versets sur la parole, essence même du poétique. J'ai tenté ici d'en mettre deux en musique.

J’aurai voulu parler sans images, simplement
pousser la porte…
                                        J’ai trop de crainte
 pour cela, d’inquiétude, parfois de pitié
On ne vit pas longtemps comme les oiseaux
dans l’évidence du ciel,
                                                  et retombé à terre,
On ne voit plus en eux précisément que des images
ou des rêves.

Parler donc est difficile, si c’est chercher…chercher quoi ?
Une fidélité aux seuls moments, aux seules choses
qui descendent en nous assez bas, qui se dérobent,
si c’est tresser un vague abri pour une proie insaisissable.

Si c’est porter un masque plus vrai que son visage
pour pouvoir célébrer une fête longtemps perdue
 avec les autres, qui sont morts, lointains ou endormis
encore, et qu’à peine soulèvent de leur couche 
cette rumeur, ces premiers pas trébuchants, ces feux timides
-nos paroles : 
bruissement du tambour pour peu que l’effleure le doigt
inconnu.

Mongolia is a landlocked country in East Asia, between Russia and China. Territorially over four times the size of Germany, the country is the least populated country in the world with around three million inhabitants. More than 40 percent of the country's population lives in the capital Ulaanbaatar. The majority of the population are Mongolians, the slight majority of whom follow Mongolian Buddhism.

The national territory covers most of the Mongolian Plateau. Due to the nature of the soil and the climate, agriculture can hardly be practiced in Mongolia. The landscape is dominated by grassy steppes, with mountains to the north and west, and the Gobi Desert to the south. The most important economic sectors are nomadic livestock farming and mining. The country is one of the ten countries richest in raw materials in the world.

Excavations in the Gobi show that Homo erectus lived in what is now Mongolia 500,000 years ago. Even before the beginning of the Christian era, equestrian nomads such as the Xiongnu or Xianbei united to form large tribes. In 1206, Genghis Khan founded the Mongol Empire, which stretched across Asia and into Europe and was the largest territorially contiguous empire in human history. His grandson Kublai Khan conquered China and founded the Yuan dynasty. After the collapse of this empire, Buddhism increasingly dominated the state. During the Qing Dynasty, “Outer Mongolia” was created as a Chinese province in 1644 on the territory of today's Mongolian state.

From 1912 the region gained extensive autonomy rights. In 1921, the Soviet Union established a puppet government, which proclaimed the Mongolian People's Republic in 1924. During its existence, it was completely dependent on the Soviet Union politically, militarily and economically. It was only during the revolutions in 1989 that the country made the peaceful transition to a democratic parliamentary system of government. On February 12, 1992, parliament sealed the end of the communist system by adopting a new constitution. Since then, Mongolia has been a stable democracy. According to the 2022 Democracy Index, Mongolia is the only democracy in the world completely surrounded by clear dictatorships. The Mongolian population is particularly concerned about the relationship with China, as they are aware of the lack of chances in a possible military conflict and are increasingly becoming dependent on this threatening backdrop.

A partial remake of my earlier rearrangement of Frédéric Chopin's Revolutionary Etude, Op. 10 No. 12. 

A Sunday excercise where I laid down a bass part with the Jazz Bass Ultra on top of my earlier rearrangement. I played the electric piano part originally 2.5 years ago as midi in several takes. Also some midi note corrections and quantizations were made back then especially since the changing of the rhythm turned out to be more difficult for the left hand than I expected.. I'm not a pro bassist but it sure was fun playing this! I also didn't want the bass to steal all the attention from the keyboard part:)

Ouagadougou (also spelled Wagadugu) is the capital of Burkina Faso in West Africa. With over two million inhabitants, it is the country's largest city and its administrative, economic, and cultural center. The city is the seat of the urban commune (French: commune urbaine) and the Ouagadougou department.

Ouaga, as it is often colloquially called, is the residence of the Mogho Naba, the powerless emperor of the Mossi people. The metropolis is known as the host city of the pan-African film festival FESPACO.

Ouagadougou is located in the center of the country on the Central Plateau in the Centre Region and Kadiogo Province. It borders Pabré to the north, the Plateau Central Region to the northeast, Saaba to the east, Koubri to the southeast, Komsilga to the south, and Tanghin-Dassouri to the west.

Paris is the capital of the French Republic, the chief town of the Île-de-France region, and a global city. With approximately 2.11 million inhabitants, Paris is the fourth-largest city in the European Union (EU). The greater Paris area, with over 12.5 million inhabitants, is the largest metropolitan region in the EU.

With a comparatively small urban area of ​​105.40 square kilometers, Paris is the most densely populated city in Europe, with 20,054 inhabitants per square kilometer. The contiguous urban settlement area (Unité urbaine de Paris) covers 2,845 square kilometers and thus extends far beyond the political borders of the city of Paris. Present-day Paris developed from the Celtic settlement of "Lutetia" on the Île de la Cité in the 3rd century BC. Later, the Romans built a city on the Seine, which initially became the principal residence of the Frankish Empire in the 6th century. Paris experienced a golden age of art and culture in the 16th century under Francis I. During absolutism, particularly under Louis XIV in the 17th century, the city was enriched with numerous Baroque buildings and boulevards, making it an exemplary model of Baroque urban planning. Although the royal residence was relocated to Versailles in 1682, Paris remained the country's political and economic center due to its importance. With the French Revolution in 1789, Paris assumed world-historical significance. Industrialization led to enormous population growth in the 19th century, so that in 1846 the city exceeded the one million mark for the first time. In the following decades, the city received worldwide attention through the so-called Belle Époque and six World Exhibitions.
