I grew up hearing Kenny Rogers say, “You’ve got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em,” and that line never really left me. This song is what it looks like when you actually try to live by that advice.

“Just Got to Know When” follows a younger man who met the gambler once, years ago — and spent a lifetime trying to walk in the wisdom he heard that night. It’s about choices, losses, and learning when to stay and when to walk away.

It’s not just about cards — it’s about life, love, and having the guts to let go when it’s time. The gambler’s gone now… but the lesson stayed.
