Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Master, vocalist & songwriter, storyteller, artist & sculptor. George is a 4-time Grammy Award winning Hawaiian guitarist who currently owns and hosts a weekly show on Maui called George Kahumoku Jr's SLACK KEY SHOW - Masters of Hawaiian Music. He is also a farmer, taro grower, sculptor, author, and the former director of UH Maui College's Institute of Hawaiian Music.

Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar is a traditional Hawaiian style of playing bass, rhythm, and lead on one guitar using one of many open tunings. It usually accompanies vocals, but can be instrumental. George plays a 12-string because he likes the full sound and heavier bass of this instrument.
