Takeshi's Cashew - Humans In A Pool

Takeshi's Cashew are a newly formed psych-funk group that explore the boundaries of club culture, world music and 70's psychedelia. Their diverse musical background fuses to a colorful vision of their respective genres embedded in a club-like beat framework. Takeshi elevate their often complex arrangements to beautiful composition with a danceable foundation.
During summer 2020 Takeshi's Cashew recorded their debut album "Humans In A Pool" in their tiny DIY studio in Vienna. A journey into cosmic krautrock, cumbia, afrobeat & disco, which can only be surpassed by one of their live performances.

Living in Paris with his heart rooted in the southern hemisphere, Didier Doudou started record collecting between the waves of the Indian Ocean and the heat of mainland Africa. Though a Zouk-seeker for many years, he has developed a more recent appetite for African Bubblegum, sugary Synth-Pop, and steamy Street Soul. He recently joined the @clubroquette crew based in Paris, who are becoming well known for their top-notch selections and silky mixing skills.

About his mix, Didier explained... "I selected some recent discoveries and long-time favourites that try and capture the essence of the Islander Cast series. I wanted to mix Brazilian Hip-Hop, R&B, Caribbean Ragga and African Zouk (obviously) into an hour long low-tempo set that captures the beauty of a golden afternoon drawing in to a sultry sunset. "💃

Up next is Belfast based artist The Vendetta Suite with a mix spanning his favourite 80s B sides and oddball rhythms. 

Recorded in the lead up to his debut album on forward-thinking Italian based label @hell-yeah Recordings - due for release June 25th; It's a record which spans over 20 years of diverse musical experiments from an artist who has lovingly seamed sounds and experiences together.

Much love went into the project, from the licensing of the artwork from The Ulster Museum to Gary's progression as an artist since working with David Holmes as his in-house studio engineer at Exploding Plastic Inevitable studio.

She knew a thing or two about suffering; in fact she could probably write a whole book about it. All the cliches had been thrown her way: 'every cloud has a silver lining', 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger', 'when one door closes, another door opens' and so on... She'd learnt to smile and nod, rather than retort with sarcasm. That said, with each strike or set back there had always been an evaluation, a lesson or a coping mechanism she'd take away and apply to the next situation.

As a way of connecting cities and artists during lockdown, Offenbach's Live At Robert Johnson and Leipzig’s Riotvan have joined forces for a new collaborative release, 'PLAYRVN001'. Made up of five tracks that link up two artists, the EP gives us a window into the sonic foundations of each imprint and the synergy between them both. Collaborations come from Roman Flügel & Rebolledo, Jennifer Touch & Chinaski, New Hook and Perel, Fort Romeau & Panthera Krause and Horkheimer & Peter Invasion & Gregor Habicht, spanning everything from synth pop to cosmic disco, breakbeat and Italo.

Fabio hails from Guatemala and brings on three original cuts that perfectly represents his "out of the box"  perception in creativity. Release starts with title track “Demvogue” that uncovers the exclusive groovy vocals and  slowly grows into ready-to-party vibe."Fey De 25 Y Yo De 12” is very special track in which you can find dandy and  very inspirable rhyme that will help you to understand more the vibes of Paradise of Guatemala. The third original  track “Ingeniero Koksal” comes with the acid spices and tension which will force you to keep you focus and move  your body till the end of the track.
Next to come is well known duo from France "Il Est Vilaine“ with a twisted electronic remix for "Demvogue“. Acid  taste touches, highlighted vocal loops, sensable strict and dark aura makes this track top notch trip guide.
Dj and producer from Mexico based in France – Leonor has turned "Fey De 25 Y Yo De 12” into memorable, solid  but playful remix. Bass does the job with perfect indicated tempo and all the sounds positioned neat in the right places. Ready Fready remix for everyone.
Last but not the least and actual cherry on the cake - Mexican born Mijo. Here he serves up a Psy Dub interpretation of “Ingeniero Koksal”. Cosmic and psychedelic remix that deepens the emotions more and more with every second of the remix. Highlighted tiny percussions, pad, and main lead, sometimes for perfection so little is needed
