[GAIT02LP] Elephant Gait Music 2021

Tagliabue releases his debut mini-album Ambiente Sonoro on Elephant Gait Music with six contemporary tracks deeply inspired by the reality that surrounds us.

Imagination has no limits, when stimulated by sounds that slowly shade and snake in the listener’s conscious.

Library music is a genre that introduced an extensive use of electronic sounds and high techniques in music making, these experimental and psychedelic compositions enriched Italian radio, film and television soundtracks during the 70s. Artists like Daniela Casa, Egisto Macchi and Piero Umiliani provided scores for documentaries, educational projects and other sound installations; they influenced and helped the Milan based artist to produce his debut mini-album “Ambiente Sonoro”. His experience as a music selector and his previous productions anticipate the character of this new contemporary work. A record that cannot be placed in a specific genre. Ancestral rhythms, post-industrial waves, apocalyptic chants and modular drones, suggest a mental projection into a new planetary system consisting of six bodies with different landscapes, kept in orbit by a cosmic sound perturbation. A dreamy state of emotional, protracted and reflective abandonment.

Tagliabue is a sound engineer, selector and music producer based in Milan. His meticulous musical research reflects an eclectic style characterized by an Italian attitude which is the expression of the love for his land and its traditions. Tracing a music-temporal path that comes from folk sounds mixed with contemporary electronic, he takes inspiration from the environment that surrounds him and breaks down the boundaries between the genres blending its musical influences and reinterpreting its origins with a propensity towards the future.

Jakob Maeder - Sun Will Rise <Gouranga Premiere>

Guadalajara-based producer Luis Fernando aka Ludviq has been having a busy 2021 so far delivering a solid string of releases on acclaimed labels such as Emerald & Doreen, HEARec, ODD Pleasures, Quixotical, Maleante, and his very own Bonkers. Now he lands on the mighty British platform Nein Records with a five-track EP divided into two well-carved originals and three out of the box remixes made with love, witchcraft & darkness by Man2.0 (SXDNS081), Hanzo (SXDNS065 along with Yaman), and Pino. The latter is kind of paying off a “debt” with Luis: On “Pitchtek”, Pino’s latest EP on Nein, Ludviq was one of the remixers.

The curious and unfamiliar title of the track we were requested to premiere drew our attention and led us to make a quick research on the web to find out its origin and meaning: “Udhëtim” is the Albanian word equivalent to “trip” in English. Suitable: Both the original and the remix are quite trippy indeed.

For his interesting interpretation, skilled Tbilisi-based producer Konstantin Kandelaki aka Pino combined acid and percussive elements with fat and robust arpeggiated synth layers, the result is a more throbbing and to a certain extent less misty version when compared to Ludviq’s piece. Well, we liked both. Dinosaurs are famous for fancying good ol’ music trips.

New compilation of Dogs & Vultures (@dogsandvulturesrecords) supported by friends from all over the world, some already known among our ranks, such as Eddie Lanzat, resident of Control Club Bucharest and with numerous releases on big labels inside the scene, Roliva this time in collaboration with Technicism and settled among the best talents in Mexico, with an imminent release in 12 '' format in this same house of which the track Slaves N 'Stress is part. Also the Valencian Fledermaus project with Isse at the bass, this guys are in charge of the booking for the mythical Freedonia room in Barcelona. And Javier Martinez, whose premiere release a few months ago with us.

Ever since the day they met they were inseparable. From the moment they woke up to the moment they went to bed, they did everything together. It almost seemed too good to be true, as though it was all a facade and behind closed doors: a totally different story. But this image was truly their reality: nothing could ever come between them.

Earlier this year LA-based collective, performance space and archival project Discostan expanded their arsenal, launching their new label arm with a reissue of Pakistani-British singer Nermin Niazi’s 1984 synth-pop masterpiece 'Disco Se Aagay'. As a follow up to the release the label have enlisted the talents of Jeddah-born, Dublin-based producer Moving Still to reimagine two of the original tracks for the club. With releases for Orange Tree and Dar Disku under his belt, he's no stranger to the edit which he showcases on these two Hi-NRG disco remixes, which are backed up on the flip by two experimental reprises and an English version of Nermin's work.

Undo & Casiowaves team up for the first time to deliver a fantastic debut 12” on Factor City records. Four original and vibrant tracks of synth pop wave, crafted with retro synths and looking positively into the future.
Label boss Undo and Casiowaves aka Joan Malé first met in 2015 when Joan released his “Kepler 22b” ep on Factor City under his 5alad alias. He’s been releasing electronic music since the late nineties under different names in labels such us Expanding records, 
Cocoon, Discontinu and his own Inrecs Label. A collector of obsolete 8bit machines and synthesizers from the eighties, Joan finally found the time last year to build a studio in his old restaurant’s kitchen, fittingly named The Ghost Kitchen. This is where the pair began playing and recording together in March, with both living in the same beautiful area of the north coast in Catalonia.
Opening the record we find the lead single “Stars Only Shine At Night”. A synth-driven trip with Undo’s emotive vocals. Pure pleasure on a dance-floor. Joining it on the A side is another tribute to the night, and another fresh Synth-Pop trip... "We love making and 
playing music at night, dancing at night, loving and driving at night."
On the flip “This Is Not The End Of The World” is a vocoderized italo-flavoured tune with haunting melodies. While “Call Me Tonight” energetically closes the record with it’s vocoder main theme, electroid beats and bass, filtered synths and wild arpeggios.
The 12” comes wrapped in a beautiful sleeve by Pedro Noguera.

DJ, selector and vinyl digger Johnny Yen started his career with organizing and playing at raves at a Viennese nightclub located in a former pedestrian underpass in mid 2000s. As a subversive supporter of the underground scene he’s curated and played at hundreds of club events. In his vinyl-only sets he loves to mix various styles like Leftfield-, Balearic-, Afro Cosmic- and Italo-Disco with New Beat, EBM, Electro, House, Techno and Trance, not only vintage but also contemporary productions from his collection of 12,000 records. Since 2009 Johnny’s hosted the Disco Frisco DJ mix podcast as well as the eponymous event series with greatest passion. His label for contemporary electronic music Archaic Future Sounds will be launched in autumn 2021.

In its 4th​ ​installment, JIN, the Taipei, Taiwan-based label, continues its cosmic journey with a set of tracks that simmer between peak-time dance floor and early morning afterhours vibe.

First up see's Bangkok's Siamese Twins mainstay Sunju Hargun, 1/2 of Mogambo, returning to JIN with two A-side tracks. The first, “Chale”, is a modern ode to classic trance that will leave dancefloors from Bangkok to Berlin in ecstasy. His second track-フーイズカサンドラ("Who is Kassandra'') is a post peak-time 7-minute acid bomb that spins and reverberates in every direction.

The B-side features two remixes of “Chale”. First up, Barcelona's wunderkind Marc Pinol removes The trance needle and rebuilds the track creating a perfectly dubbed-our cosmic trip between musical galaxies. Finishing the E.P., Taipei's own Initials B.B. incorporates guitars samples turning the original into a futuristic, new wave-like slow burner that leaves one floating between planets

Tragic Revolution, a New Beat track from 1988, gets a uptempo edit by Lennart.
The catchy melodies and dark vocoder voices caught his attention and inspired him to give this song a new twist.

Lennart is a 23 year old producer from The Netherlands who started working at Slow Motion in the beginning of 2021. In the last year he got introduced to a lot of new music (including this track) by Franz Scala and Fabrizo Mammarella.
This edit was made last summer in the studios of Sameheads in Berlin and is now available as a free download for you!

Eccentric and unpredictable, this artist remains at the top of his game, signing the best underground talent from Europe to Nein records, releasing pure quality evident in all the Tronik Youth productions, mixes and DJ sets.
