The stunning selection in this week's show comes from a real Balearic aficionado and a veteran of the Balearic scene Sir Robert Harris aka Dr. Rob (Ban Ban Ton Ton).

Born and raised in South London, Dr. Rob now resides in the mountains of Japan. As a member of the Lone Star Crew, a super Balearic group, together with Max Essa and Ken Hidaka, for over a decade, he’s been hosting the Lone Star parties held at Bar Bonobo, in the Harajuku district of Tokyo.
Their recent collaboration on the superb Music for Dreams compilation -‘Oto No Wa: Selected Sounds of Japan 1988​-​2018’ has certainly brought some wonderful Japanese music to a new audience. 

He produces a weekly radio show for MFD Radio and another long-running program, The Remedy, broadcast every Thursday and Saturday evening on his local station, FM Karuizawa.
Dr. Rob contributes to Electronic Sound Magazine and Faith Fanzine, writes for Test Pressing, and runs, the Ban Ban Ton Ton blog.

As you know he’s got an outstanding taste in music (especially of a soul, balearic, electronic and disco nature) so in the next 2 hours of Balearic bliss,  hope you all enjoy his beautiful sunset selection.

Antoni Maiovvi EP debuts on Italo Moderni with four original tracks influenced by the Bakalao from Valencia in the 90's. The so-called ''Ruta Destroy'' was a direct heir to the "Movida Valenciana" and consisted of the largest clubbing movement in Spain. It started in certain aspects the clubbing movement in the country, and had long-term consequences on the form of nightlife in Spain. Including a remix by Jensen Interceptor. Cardopusher and WLDV.

Writing reviews is something that dinosaurs really appreciate doing, even more when the review is for the debut release of a label. The responsibility of having to write something that will be forever part of the history of the imprint mixes itself with the privilege of having such an opportunity: Sound Du Jour, curated by Anglo Italian DJ and Producer Carlo Bragagnini aka La Mano (SXDNS270), starts its musical journey with “Tarvisio”, a beautiful three-track EP featuring two powerful originals by Carlo himself and a stunning remix made with love by London-based producer Kiwi.

If the title track is an acidic, 808 heavy, electro driven workout, with a pulsing bassline, and hypnotic, arpeggiated synths, Kiwi’s remix follows a rather different direction: He works his magic on Tarvisio taking all the important parts of the original and adding floaty pads and strings, new percussive elements and a driving bassline.

In sum, Sound Du Jour kicks off delivering a must-have release and left us looking very much forward to its forthcoming episodes.

Lola Interpretations is a remixes collection of the latest acoustic work released by Intersezioni, Lola Percussion.

Seven artists from the Italian techno / tribal / downtempo scene have been involved, using samples obtained from the original Lola's recordings.

The result is a free recompositions compilation of the original edits, characterised by a strong connection between acoustic and electronic sounds and thought to be perfect even for the dance floor.

Based in Los Angeles, Lionel and Ray have honed an infectious and party-starting sound that takes in serious references like New Wave, Post Punk, and the 80s proto house synth experiments of Anne Clarke, Yazoo, and Depeche Mode, but never makes the mistake of taking them too seriously.
Their DJing style is as varied as it is energetic and is now winning them a loyal following in the US and around the world after tours of Mexico and Europe in late 2019 and early 2020.
As skilled in the studio as they are in the booth, Pyramids is rather unbelievably only the second ever EP by the duo, after releasing a slew of incredibly well-loved remixes in the 12 months since their debut release on Me Me Me last year, which saw the tracks Starlight Ceremony and Kenji both become bona fide club hits and a firm favorite of distinct DJs such as HAAi, Keinemusic, and CC Disco.
