No introduction needed for this soul train classic by Kool and The Gang. I have been messing with it for some time now trying to make a modern DJ friendly version and thought it would be nice to share. Initially I made the sorter 'hip cut' for me to play and mashup crossing over from soul and hip hop to disco but then I realized I could not do without the magical ARP synth solo so thus the 'extended version'. It took a while to tame and make it work and now here it is. Enjoy this fine piece of music and Merry Xmas peepz !

To celebrate, Chopshop gathered some of the finest artists to release a totally free compilation through soundcloud as a token of appreciation to all the fans and supporters of the label. I was always looking for an instrumental cut of the McFadden & Whitehead duo and Jocko's old-school rap take was as close as it could get. Re-arranged, extended and re-amped so you can sing along, rap along,mash it up or just enjoy the instrumental. 114 BPM  

Jocko - Ain't No Stopping Us Now (George Kelly Instrumental)

One of the most influential late 80s recording for me constructed mainly from samples. Genius work and a lot of effort put in this translated in a Grammy nomination in 1989. 
I always wanted to prolong the main theme and turn down the testosterone on the samples so I can use it today in 2013. I have used a couple of loops from the original and then overdubbed everything else as well as recreating a few sampling parts from scratch.
Enjoy and keep the funk alive.
