Gizmo is the first EP from London based argentinean DJ and producer. The 3-track EP is clearly dance-floor oriented. As soon as you immerse yourself in the first track you will immediately feel the influence of nature on Blixa’s sound palette and his passion for generating dense and vibrant atmospheres. Tribal percussions and ritual-like vocals blended with celestial melodies will invite you to get on a trip that is as melodic as psychedelic.

Perth-based artist lia t has an ear for capturing quotidian detail and making it feel special. At the very end of 2020, she released sketches222 on Deep Water, a collection of wistful ambient etudes that contained dozens of field recordings, mostly taken during the producer’s time in Osaka. Earlier that year, she also collaborated with Copenhagen-based artist Perko on mini-album highlight ‘Grounds’, a stunning 2-minute snapshot of the inimitable sounds that make up the city.

Her latest release, and opening track on Music Company's forthcoming Vector Fields Vol. 3 compilation, is a little different. Whereas ‘Grounds’ channelled the hum of the urban environment, ‘Sweetapple Lane’ is a more celestial affair—the aural equivalent of an aeroplane ride through a cloud. The track opens with a field recording of passing traffic but it quickly dissipates. Gradually, the piece thickens; the synths intensify and several other electronic elements drift in and out. It’s a noticeable expansion in scope from the producer’s music to date but it doesn’t sacrifice any of the intimacy that makes both sketches222 and ‘Grounds’ feel so personal. It’s more like being able to listen to someone’s thoughts as they fall into a daydream. That sense of reverie is heightened by lia’s clever use of field recordings. The producer bookends the track with them. In the last 30 seconds, she reintroduces one—this time nearer water or a beach—to bring the track slowly back down to earth. It’s these familiar, everyday sounds that add to the song’s quiet grandeur; they make it that much easier to get lost in its many overlapping folds.

The jungle was thick and dense, a deep sea of green engulfed their pathway as they wandered between tall trees, wild shrubbery and delicate flowers. It was warm in the midst of the forest, they had been told it might be by those who had come before them. From time to time the wild songs of birds would echo and dance amidst the leaves up above, there were no creatures to be seen but they were certainly there, watching over them as they passed through the thick. Soon the sun would set upon this remarkable place, they would be plunged into darkness as the wild things danced all around. 

Pandit Pam Pam is the moniker of São Paulo electronic artist, Eduardo Ramos. He is set to release a new record on Music Company, a dreamy experimental collection of synthesizer focussed tracks for deep listening. He describes the record as follows...

“I recorded mostly in deep summer in the countryside. Surrounded by trees and lots of sun. I was looking through the window at a small gathering of lemon trees and orange trees.”

With a fair amount of pride, Warning presents the debut EP of emerging artist JCow. Four fresh cuts that will stand the test of time. Opening with high energetic roller Magma on the A side, accompanied by Purity of Spirit, an uplifting basement Rave anthem. On the flip things get more twisted with Groove Ryder, a melange of funky Breakz, Trance and Trip-Hop. The Acid Fiend Mix of formerly digitally released Rave Patrol is completing this record with an overboarding composition of drums and JCow’s own guitar.

Over the last 18 months, they've been busy, running a mix and party series, radio show, and launching a label that will release its first EP later in the year. Spanning from garij, to breaks, dubstep, garij, grime, speed garij, garij, funky, and even garij. Here they take a more progressive, but still tasteful approach to the collective’s sound. Novelcast 120: Unrestricted Purpose

As the weekend approached, the anticipation of the activities that would soon ensue began to take over. For 48 hours, there would be no mention of work, no thoughts of the daily responsibilities that came with it, only freedom mattered, and they were going to take advantage of every single moment. The club was the destination, a place to escape the outside world. When they descended down those stairs and into the darkness, they knew they'd never want to leave.

Roy Mills launched his Local Knowledge label, as a platform to celebrate community and club culture, towards the end of September 2020 and since then he's welcomed Hed Ardennes for an EP and a slew of artists for a charity compilation. Now, following appearances on Room II Records, Pressure Dome and Elkka’s femme culture, he takes care of the third release on the imprint with three tracks aimed to be played at different times in the club. From intricate drum patterns and hypnotic bass lines to off kilter percussion and meticulous sound design, the EP demonstrates Roy's knack for capturing different moods and feelings, whilst saluting the thrill of clubland.

The night was cold and dark as he skipped through an electronic maze of obscure shapes and patterns. This was his journey into digital sleep, a realm in which all things were unseen and built solely from pixels and flickering electronics. The world around him was not physical but virtual and as he dreamt in the darkness he began to shake and shuffle beneath the strain of the bright flashing lights which illuminated this fantasy world. Where was he? How had he got here? 

UNPOSED is a record label based in Germany, run by MSJY the imprint releases futuristic, experimental, electronic music with post modern tendencies. They have just announced a new compilation in aid of those under threat by the Yemen food crisis with all profits being donated. This track from the release is by Paz Shina.
