Hot on the heels of Helsloot's superb 'Let's Pretend' single in April come two new remixes of it by Tube & Berger and Saint Evo. 

Helsloot's original was quickly picked up by an array of DJs and dropped in a number of great sets. It was the latest in a string of fresh singles from the Dutch DJ and the extended mix is included again here. It is a hypnotic and rolling house tune with lush chords that bring plenty of cosmic vibes. 

First to remix it are German mainstays and Kittball Records founders Tube & Berger. This pair has amassed over 100 million streams to their name, have scored a number of Beatport Top 5 hits and are regulars at leading parties like ANTS in Ibiza and the legendary Tomorrowland. Their take on 'Let's Pretend' is a light and airy, disco-tinged and bouncy house cut. The scintillating chords bring light, a steamy vocal layers in the soul and the whole thing takes you into another dimension. 

Saint Evo is the founder of Celsius Degree Records and hails from the savannah plains of Kajiado County, the home of the famed Maasai people. He is a pioneer of the Afro house sound in East Africa and has collaborated with a multitude of producers and vocalists from across the globe. Here he remixes 'Let's Pretend' into a chunky groove with delicate synths and starry-eyed melodies. The percussion brings rich Afro house vibes and the vocals become spiritual chants that cast a majestic spell. 

This is a vital package that brings some fresh new influences to the great original from Helsoot.

Tooker makes his Human By Default debut with ‘Divided We Fall’ featuring Aquarius Heaven.

Christopher Tooker's first Human By Default release lands on January 12th and sees him continue a run of releases for the likes of Crosstown Rebels, Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan's Ouïe and Compost. Having cut his teeth in bands before moving into electronic music as a core member of KMLN, Tooker's style is hypnotic and deeply immersive. 

'Divided We Fall', a track that sees Tooker joined by Wolf & Lamb, Circus Company and No.19 alumnus Aquarius Heaven delivering compelling vocals, is a pulsating epic. While strings overlap and the vocals ebb and flow, an ever-present bass stab compliments loose, organic percussion, making for a persistent, engaging groove. On the (virtual) flip, Tooker invites his live act, Wazoo, on board for 'Sonar ft Wazoo', a blissed out, heady cut with yet more sumptuous, rounded percussive touches underpinning a cavalcade of dreamy synths.

This is my first release after a break of more or less ten years. "Echoes" is about reflecting on an irretrievable past while embarking on a new chapter (from life to death or within life itself). Recordings started already 5 years ago with just drums, a string ensemble, bass & piano, while all the other instrumental & vocal elements were added bit by bit in various sessions afterwards. I was waiting for the right moment and mood to release it. Now, in 2020, the moment seems to be just right.
