A vaguely Vangelis sounding improvisation with all the sounds coming from lots of instances of the DRC synthesiser.
83 nodes including effects in AUM.

15th Jamuary 2024 | DRC

In addition to the SWAM French Horn played here with GeoShred, various BeatHawk and Roli Noise percussion and drones are ‘activated’ via the top four notes of the GS surface.
This uses the facility in AUM to filter out note ranges and then to transpose them up or down. 
Various effect such as TB Reverb, FAC Alteza and Cascade are used to add to the droniness.

This is about as close as I get to the ‘knob twiddling’ school of electronic music. 
I always struggle with Fugue Machine (it’s me not the app) but here it is being used to play multiple Copperheads.
SnakeBud is playing its own Copperheads and is being randomised by StepBud.

A laugh a minute this one…
The main part is a reading from Robert Falcon Scott’s (Scott of the Antarctic) Journal from 1912 (from www.librivox.org)
Additional sounds are a drone from World Piano and wind from the BBC Sound Effects web site.
TB Reverb is used to mangle some of the sounds.
A mournful SWAM Flugelhorn is played with GeoShred.

#253 GeoShred Experiment #9

A lovely 4 bar motif popped out of Piano Motifs, so here it is repeated 4 times playing Ravenscroft 275 and Roli Noise Oceans Lament with me providing the SWAM cello via GeoShred.

btw… A wolf" is an undesirable phenomenon that occurs in some bowed-string instruments, most famously in the cello. It happens when the pitch of the played note is close to a particularly strong natural resonant frequency of the body of the musical instrument.
You can fit Cellos with Wolf Tone Eliminator hence the title of the piece.

I fired up the latest version of Piano Motifs to try the latest enhancements I.e. the Tonic Drone setting for the Note Sustain Multi Bar accompaniment and the Randomise Velocity feature and this was the first thing that popped out.

#256 It Just Popped Out II

This started of with Lobby piano from Decent Sampler played by 4Pockets Euclidean via Chord Roulette. The result felt sort of ‘stompy’ hence the title and also reminded me a bit of the late great Chas and Dave.
Using the same Euclidean settings I added Speldosa, Roli Drums and BeatHawk Bass.
Over the top of this went some GeoShred Gong Lead and backing guitar and then towards the end some Rock Drummer from Lumbeats.

One of those tracks that I wasn’t planning on making but just seemed to work with minimum effort.
A newly downloaded Chord Organ from Decent Sampler played by Piano Motifs.
Gong Lead preset in GeoShred through Magic Dice and TB Reverb.
A bit of distortion but the moment was right so I’ll leave it.

All I did for this track was to press generate a couple of times and point the 4 available channels at some Decent Sampler sounds I.e.Slinky Violin, The Ektara, Woven Strings and Domra.

SWAM Clarinet played with GeoShred over a backing provided by 4 * Decent Sampler Chord Organ and a DS Udu (percussion)
One Piano Motif plays all of the backing.
In between PM and each Chord Organ is a Rozeta Scaler with its Pre Transpose parameter being modified by a Rozeta LFO.

#264 I Take Tea My Dear

Bill Saunders created a beautiful piece for piano and voice last month which he posted on the AudioBus forum.
He then produced a simple but heartfelt video.
For some reason this piece really got to me so I asked Bill if I could add a little accompaniment which he kindly agreed to.
After some work (all by Bill) re-recording and re-mastering we finished up with this version which has some added SWAM Viola.

Agkistrodon Contortrix Is the Latin name for the Copperhead snake.
This piece makes use of 8 instances of the Copperhead synth from 4Pockets Audio plus a couple of Roli Noise Drums for the percussion.

This inspired me to try and create something from it and after lots of false starts I came up with this…
Roli Enormo Drone through GateLab.
One copy of the original track put through FilterStep.
A second copy of the original, delayed slightly and put through FilterStep and AudioKit L7 Looper which has some surprisingly useful effects including pitch alteration used here.
Finally Roli Fluid Acoustic Bass (one of my favourites) played with GeoShred.

In the 70s I had a record called For all it is by Barre Phillips that featured four double bassists and a drummer. This is my interpretation using Piano Motifs.

SWAM Double Bass, ROLI Noise Fluid Acoustic Bass, iBassist Slap, BeatHawk Fretless Vibrato and a couple of Speldosas for good measure.
