Halfmoon is a moody tune about coming to terms with the fact that you deserve better, realizing your own worth. It’s the feeling of going in circles with someone, constantly battling issues and problems, just to suddenly realize you may just have to remove yourself from the situation altogether. It’s taking a step back and shifting perspective. Changing your position from defensive to offensive and grabbing life (and love) by the horns.


Musically, Halfmoon may be the middle child of A Little Lucky. It’s darker, the chords aren’t as pop as the other songs, the structure isn’t as standard. On the other hand, the vocal intentions are powerful, bright and layered, which balances out the restraint of the musical bed. It feels like a form of female rage (we contain *multitudes*), one that is empowered and determined. Confident but still naïve in a way that allows for surprises. It feels like breaking free.
