My high school senior year going to a Freshman in college was a hell of a transition. This is a summarized story of why I started smoking weed. Homecoming in college was always the best times. Come back from a party damn near down a half a bottle of E&J. I have class in a couple hours and a full load if that. When I go to sleep I'm hella drunk beyond the point of return. The next thing I personally remember waking up to my crew cooling it in the room. My first question obviously was what time it is. My suite mate said "Bro it's 7". I was relieved until I looked outside and saw the dark. "PM?!?!" I exclaimed. "Yeah bro you were bugging like hell. You pissed on both sides of the room. Missed the toilet twice." he said. At this point I'm thinking it ain't about to get worse is it. "Oh and your mom's been calling you for a hour." 😳🤯 Mind you I'm still feeling the after effects, I stumble downstairs with my best friend O and his homie to get these care packages from Mom. My eyes are BLOODSHOT RED. I barely have any balance or sense of mind. So luckily I got good friends they covered ya boi through that rough time. So finally get back to the room and try to eat something. First thing was a pack of Ramen. 15 minutes later hurling.  Tried a couple more items all the same result. At this point I'm over drinking. A couple days go by get offered to just Sit in the hotbox. Never smoked a day in my life but after feeling so defeated from the spirits I wanted to calm my nerves. Sat in the back of the mustang convertible and rode until the blunts were done. But the high was so great  I offered to get more.  So after we got more, we smoked and laughed so hard that night. Flash forward to nowadays reflecting on my mistakes make me grateful cause we all have lost so many people. It's a scary to think about but we all know sometime we have to go. I know I haven't been the most proactive person but I know that if I don't end up doing more for myself I'm just wasting life. Thinking about my mom's always told me "Gerald, son, life will pass you by if you let it." Those words have always rung in my head. But watching it actually happen is crazy. So just spend your time with the people/person you love and just enjoy the fruits life has to offer while we still breathe air.
