Mark E
Born in Wolverhamption, Mark E has led a slow but steady upward career that has led him to become one of the most respected DJs and producers on the British Isles house scene.

Mark E's idyll with electronic dance music began in his late teens, when Madchester-era Manchester and the irreverent attitude of early '90s raves took the British scene by storm. His first album was nothing less than Bizarre Inc.'s Playing With Knives, which gave him an introduction to the wonderful world of house music. As the years passed, Mark left behind Wolverhampton (a city where he enjoyed a good scene, he was even able to hear legends like John Kelly or Frankie Knuckles) and young Birmingham for his university studies. It is there that he came into contact with an even bigger club scene and where they currently reside.

Mark E's first steps in production were edits of classic songs to which he applied a soft tempo (between 105 and 115 BPM). One of them, titled Scared, and which included Baby, Im Scared Of You by Womack & Womack, reached the ears of Gilles Peterson who opened the microphones of his BBC program to play it. Since then he created his own label, Merc Music, and started to produce his own songs. His remix of Matthew Dear's Little People (Black City) joins the Ghostly International / Spectral Sound family, where he publishes his first album: Stone Breaker (2011).
