Germaid & Clara:
Germaid used to be a singer in a Country & Rock'n'Roll band. There she turned into a classical stage hog with a big mouth. As a busker she toured with her guitar through the United States and Canada. There she fell in love with Folk, Americana and Country Music. Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, KT Tunstall or Ani DiFranco are the artists she's getting inspiration from. Her voice is sometimes light and clear, sometimes dark and smoky as she also appreciates a good whiskey. Clara supports her duo partner by playing the cello in a melancholie and lyrical way as well as using the instrument rhythmically and percussive to give the songs a relation to pop music.

Diesem Leitspruch folgend malte sich Germaid ganz selbstständig ihre Welt... Mit elf Jahren schrieb sie ihren ersten Song und brachte sich selbst das Gitarrespielen bei. Anfangs ist sie durch die Rock'n'Roll-Schule gegangen. Germaid war Sängerin in einer Country & Rock'n'Roll Band. Dort mutierte sie zur klassischen
Rampensau mit großer Klappe. Als Straßenmusikerin zog sie mit der Gitarre durch die USA und Kanada. Hier entstand auch ihre Liebe zur Folk, Americana und Country Musik. Künstler wie Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, KT Tunstall oder Ani DiFranco sind ihre Inspiration. Songs dieser Künstler hat sie ebenfalls in ihrem Programm. In ihrer eigenen Musik hingegen, bleibt Germaid der deutschen Sprache treu. Was dabei raus kommt?: Folk und Americana auf Deutsch, lustige, ironische Texte, sowie echte Gefühle und manchmal auch ein bisschen Tiefgang. Ihre Stimme kann klar und hell sein, doch sie schätzt auch einen guten Whisky und das hört man, wenn sie rauchige und dunkle Töne anstimmt.

In the beginning she took the school of Rock'n'Roll. Germaid used to be a singer in a Country & Rock'n'Roll band. There she turned into a classical stage hog with a big mouth. As a busker she toured with her guitar through the United States and Canada. There she fell in love with Folk, Americana and Country Music. Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, KT Tunstall or Ani DiFranco are the artists she's getting inspiration from. Some of their songs she's playing in her programm too. But in her own music, Germaid sticks to her German mother tounge. What do you get is: Folk music and Americana in German language, funny and cheeky lyrics, as well as deep emotions and sometimes a bit of profoundness. Her voice is sometimes light and clear, sometimes dark and smoky as she also appreciates a good whiskey.
