This track is from my new album Dream States. It is dedicated to my Russian and Ukrainian friends which I met on my travel in India. I am so sorry to see what your politicians are causing and hope that this disaster will end as soon as possible. love you all!
On all tracks of this album I perform live exotic ethnic instruments as well as electronics sound devices. Featured instruments in this track is my voice, African talking drum, Indian Kanjira and Indian Bass Bansuri. Most of the sound are designed with Spectrasonics Omnisphere and Prosoniq Orange Vocoder. Final mix and mastering was performed by Christian Poffo with www.poffo.de. He is an amazing mix engineer and the amazing mix of this song wouldn't exist without his fine fingers.

Ancient Call (MM)

This is a nice collaboration in between a very talented SC producer and me. Her Name is GALINA. Please check out GALINA's portifolio at https://soundcloud.com/galinam . GALINA has an amazing feeling for atmospheres, grooves and is super creative. In this case GALINA got an Impromptu solo on an Armenian Duduk I made in a German Cathedral.  Based on this  8 minute solo she made a beautiful groovy track out of it. I specially like here drum programming and the cool sounds she created. Have fun and leave comments if you like.

From East To West (Collab with GALINA)

This is a live demo of pure ethnic energy. The instruments we use are my beloved Space Pipe (that's actually a new version of an overtone flute), Dan Moi, which is kind of ancient jewish harp from Vietnam and Mickey plays cajon box drum and several other nice percussion tools.

9 Doors To Nowhere

In this track we make use of two wonderful ethnic African instruments called 'Sansula' and mix it into a modern context by using Drum & Bass. The base form of the tune we have build up on a classical Indian rhytmic composition called ' The Cow's Horns'. This beautiful and simple form is based on 16 beat (called Thin Taal) and sounds as follows:

During a live show the synth and electronic drums will be run by loops system.  Of-course, we will be creative with form and sounds and, since the overall approach is 'improvisation' surprises are granted.

Riding Along

This track was recorded in during a live performance I did last year. I love to play the Duduk. 2 years ago, It became my main instrument and, untill now, I did a number of concerts with this amazing instrument. I hope you enjoy the sound as much as I do. The Duduk I recorded live in Berlin at a like lake in the Volkspark. Of-course, since I love it,  at night time, went the bats start to hunt the moskitos. It was an amazing silvermoon night. Later I went home to my studio place and work out an ambient around my live recording.

Silver Moon

This track is dedicated to Christine which passed away last year. It is very hard to understand why and, since then, I have to live with a huge questionmark in front of me. I know, we all always do the best we can, but already know, my life will not be long enough to let me understand, why all this happened. I will remember you always, as I already did all my life long since we met first.

Actually I don't know which genre to put this into. Really... I play african Sansula, Duduk, sung some fragments and carefully I placed some nice synth stuff. It was so much fun to make it. Days of on ongoing smiles. I still skipped the Duduk. I will send an update once it has been recorded.

This track is dedicated to a beautiful girl that recently confused me pretty much. From the first moment on I knew that again it was about the letting-go-lesson. Yes, sometimes from beginning on we feel the end of a relationship. This time I didn't ignore that and focused on observation... No idea if this my new trick to escape from beginning on or if I became wiser over night :)

Loosing You

Again this a recording I did with my friend and colleague Mickey Neher (perc.) in this amazing 278 meter long railway tunnel close to my home place. Just enjoy this incredibel recording ambient again and again. Meanwhile I played the Dududk this moment , time and space was compelety absent. It was like one of the free-fall states...the moments, when you get completely lost in what you do. I guess this is the maximum compassion state / maximum dedcation to the moment I breath and, thereby, play my Duduk

I Love India - based on Raga Bhairav

This track I wrote in the Himal in North-India. The noises you hear are a capture of everyday life. With this track I wanna show that music derives from everyday language. Also I wanna give you my feel of being in the Himal.

Another Chance

This is a short live track where I play Indian Kanjira and a Vietnamese bass Jew's harp with two tongues. I make use of loopers to keep things going live on stage. I really love to groove and improvise with simple ancient instruments.

DAN MOI BEAT CAST - 7 Beat

In this track I play an Indian Kanjira drum solo, dedicated to my close  friends, the  Indian master drumers Rohit and Nirmal of Benaris. The Kanjira drum is a beautiful Indian talking drum and I love this small instrument for it's incredible deep and gentle  sound. The Kanjira drum was given to us by Lord Ganesh (which I like very much) to enjoy dance and life (that's my way anyway.. The Indians say, the dimensions of a Kanjira, which is about 8 inch, reflects an elephants footprint. In my eyes this might be true for a baby elephant. I promiise didn't measure any elephant but some have really big feet and the drum is small... ;o) Anyhow, I hope you enjoy my performance ...

Ganesha's Footprints (Indian Kanjira Drum Solo)

I am very happy to release the new track. This tune is based on a wonderful piano improvisation by Milana (https://soundcloud.com/milanazilnik). Milana's playing inspired me to play an Indian bass Bansuri, a double bass, a German glockenspiel and to fine tune the mix. Welcome to my SoundCloud page! My name is Thomas, I am a composer/producer/performer from Wuppertal, Germany. After graduating decades ago, and working for the commercial music industry, I'm specialised in writing and performing ethnic music and electronic sound designs. I perform nearly all my music life and spend most of my time in learning and playing new instruments. I am always open for collaboration with other musicians which write and perform their own stuff in the genre film music, ethnic and electronic music, Global Beats, nu jazz, modern jazz and clever made DnB and a certain kind of indie-pop music.
