– {They may hide from men, but they cannot hide (them) from Allah, for He is with them (by His Knowledge), when they plot by night in words that He does not approve, And Allah ever encompasses what they do} (Surah Al-Nisa:108).
– The story of "al-Ifk" demonstrates the consequences of the utterance of evil from the tongue.
– A further example of the great consequences of vile rumours that were spread about the noble companion Uthmān ibn Affān

– Blessings should be utilized to draw closer to Allāh.
– Ḥadīth highlighting the significance and weightiness of a single word and its dire consequences.
– Reflection from the Prophet’s ﷺ Night Journey specifically regarding the punishment of backbiting, lying, slandering.
– Beautiful principle: If you truly believe in Allāh and the Messenger, speak good or remain silent.
– Various aḥadith showing the path to Jannah and salvation which are linked to the safety of the tongue.
– Encouragement to increase in the du'ā made by the Prophet ﷺ related to seeking refuge with Allāh from the evil of our tongue, sight, hearing etc.

Verily, those who say: Our Lord is Allaah, then remain steadfast, on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death,saying): Fear not, nor grieve; but receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you were promised. (Fussilat:30)
