[28/06/2024] A Warning from Imitating the Unbelievers - By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul Wāḥid حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

- The great importance of being proud of our ascription to Islām, which Allāh has honoured us with.
- The dominance of Islām over all the other religions. 
- The dīn Allāh commanded all of the Messengers to establish.
- Clear proof from the Sunnah for the prohibition of imitating the unbelievers. 
- Shaykh al-Fawzān (حفظه الله) on outward imitation of the unbelievers leading to negation of true īmān. 
- The inferiority complex of many Muslims today and their widespread imitation of the unbelievers. 
- Understanding that every small and great matter was clarified for us by the Messenger ﷺ and we are distinguished from the unbelievers in every affair.
- The command to grow the beard and trim the moustache. 
- The slippery slope of imitating the unbelievers. 
- The prohibition of shaving part of the head and leaving a part long, and speech from Shaykh ‘Abdullāh al-Bassām (رحمه الله) on the repugnancy of this practice. 
- The weakness of īmān and lack of self-respect of the Muslim women who demean themselves online by following social media influencers. 
- Encouragement to read the sīrah of our honourable Messenger ﷺ and get our priorities right before it is too late.

– The Qur’an was revealed to a people who were eloquent in the Arabic language.
– What does the term العالَم Al-Aālam mean.
– Ar-Rahman - A general mercy that is given to all of mankind, believers and disbelievers.
– Ar-Raheem - A specific Mercy only given to the believers. Allah aids them with the mercy.
From Every Name of Allah تعالى stems an Attribute.

– Allah As-Same’ee - The All-Hearing.
– Al-Baseer - The All-Seeing.
– Using the definite article ‘Al - ال’ Before the Names of Allah تعالى.
– Māliki Yawm ud-Deen - The Master of the Day of Judgement. The Day of Reward, Recompense and Accountability.
– The Hadĩth “The shrewd and smart person is the one who works for the this Day….”
– The True King and the True Master on that day is only Allah تعالى
– Contrary to this world where there’s tyrants that claim to be the Kings and Masters.

– The ruling in the hadīth above of the shrewd and smart one.
– The neglectful one follows his desires, abandons the obligatory actions, however he still hopes for the mercy of Allah - The term for this is irja’a.
– Hasan Al-Basri - “Faith is not just in the heart (with no actions), but rather Eeman is in the heart and is established upon the tongue and the limbs.”
– A question regarding using the definite article in Arabic ‘Al - ال’ for attributes while referring to the creation.
