[24/01/2025] Soothsayers, Fortune-tellers, Diviners and Astrologers in Light of the Qur’ān and Sunnah - By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul Wāḥid حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.



Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

- Five affairs known to none but Allāh. 

- Aḥādīth highlighting the grave consequences of visiting a fortuneteller, soothsayer or astrologer. 

- The meaning of al-‘Arrāf and al-Kāhin. 

- Ibn ‘Abbās (رضى الله عنه) on those who write down the abā jād and look into the stars. 

- Shaykh al-Fawzān (حفظه الله) on the meaning of abā jād. 

- Caution against allowing these affairs to violate our Tawḥīd. 

- Fourteen affairs that fall into fortunetelling. 

- Warning against entering upon fortunetellers and soothsayers and listening to them.

- Explanation of how the shayāṭīn gather and convey information to the magician. 

- How ignorant people are beguiled by these charlatans. 

- Proof that astrology is a branch of magic.

[07/02/2025] The Best of All Provisions is Taqwā - By Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– Allah تعالى says: “O you who believe! Fear Allah and keep your duty to Him. And let every person look to what he has sent forth for tomorrow, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
And be not like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient. Not equal are the dwellers of the Fire and the dwellers of the Paradise. It is the dwellers of Paradise that will be successful.”
Surah Hashr 59:18-19

– Every soul should be concerned with what they put forward for tomorrow.
– The meaning of tomorrow.
– Ayāt concerning the Hour and the Day of Judgement.
– The virtues of Tawqa – Fearing Allah.
– Importance of taking accountability.

– Statement of Umar Ibnul Khattab رضي الله عنه regarding taking oneself to account before we are held to account.
– Explanation of how Allah causes a person to forget themselves.
– Description of the believers’ heart when they turn away from the remembrance of Allah.
