Afterlife – Moksha Release date 25th August 2021 #modernbalearic
This is Afterlife’s Summer instalment for 2021 and if anything is one of the best to date. Listen and the explanation is obvious.

Afterlife’s tantalising title track, Moksha sets the world alight with its breath of mysterious voices, exciting combinations of free Jazz and twisted techno vibes to spark a future of ideas by rewiring the past. What at first may seem densely complex soon reveals layers of sensitive intensity at each reference point, opening out an uncompromising sketch of the figurative movements contained within the heartfelt meaning of Dance. 

The beautiful, West Coast breeze of Ad Astra follows reflecting the pulse of sunshine turned-on by a wash of heart-warming chords, seconded by heavenly vocals, while fulfilling the ideal of perfect Balearic bliss aimed at the climax of an everlasting summer sunset. Music of this true nature only occurs once in a blue moon.

Abraxas sees the artist return to his deep love of Reggae as the shimmer of the island reverberates throughout the resplendent grooves of a most high and mighty order, again the sounds are fed with the unique emotion of passionate excess and an invigorating sense of musicality. This teasing downtempo of excellence is likewise served up by the master of time and sound, sequenced to a flow of higher perfection.

Completing the stellar release is a scorching collaboration with Ken Fan, resident Cafe del Mar DJ,in the shape of Dreadbox. Leaving no stone unturned this escape into Dub territory is a smoker’s delight of ever-expanding tape loops amid the crisp shuffle of hot drums, along with shimmering splashes of guitar and classic organ delays. By recalling the inspiration of legends past the collection of energised sounds dance and sing as moves ebb and flow to the rhythm of now as the Moksha EP proves to be the perfect complement to the summer soundtrack.
