This is the sixth in a series of mixes that I am creating by improvising on the DSI Tempest synched to the Korg Volca Keys, which is in turn synched to the Korg Monotribe. Minor editing for length and simple processing has been applied, but there's no extensive post-production or mastering.

First track with the Tetrax Organ, no patching, and a Chamber of Sounds Jupiter III G for the kick, distorted snare, and chirps. All sounds were made on only these two devices. Between the Tetrax and the Jupiter, everything was played live/finger-drummed and then multi-tracked, edited and effected in Logic Pro X.

Ascending Node is a composition of sevent in total from Apsides.  This is my debut full length album featuring customized software tracking space debris over various host coordinates, on Chaikin Records. Mastered by, Jessica Thompson, LLC. 
 
The seven electronic soundscapes of Apsides derive from the orbiting of space debris as it is tracked in real-time using custom built software. Data of proximity, distance and attitude variance are rendered into sound through analog synthesizers, signal generators, sampler, voice and more. The ‘rawness’ of electricity is sculpted into thematic patterns, melodic shapes and textured ‘environments’ while straddling a compositional line between ‘chance’ and 'control'. Thematically, Apsides depicts a sonic portrait of the interaction between humankind and its culturally entrenched position among technological systems and media ecologies, a relationship merging the animate with the inanimate in a congealed ‘machinic’ exchange between signal and receiver.

The physical release of Apsides is on custom circular USB disk featuring artwork based on graphic notations of geographic coordinate points where recordings took place. Included in the USB along with Apsides are a multichannel video piece entitled The Great Acceleration to a version of the composition "Vates" and a certificate of authenticity with album notes and info.

GTC is the somewhat obtuse performing moniker of Argentine-born, New York-based graphic designer and electronic musician Gabriel Guma. GTC has performed at Anthology Film Archives, Fridman Gallery for the New Ear Festival, Performa Telethon 2021, Theater 80, Kilroy Metal Ceiling, the Morbid Anatomy Museum, Parrish Art Museum, the annual Filmmakers Co-op Benefit, Mono No Aware XI, Mana Contemporary, Muchmore's, Secret Project Robot, Transient Visions Festival of the Moving Image, Microscope Gallery, Synesthesia, and the Knockdown Center. He has also contributed with live soundscapes to two of the Dreamlands expanded cinema series of events, co-organized by Microscope Gallery and the Whitney Museum of American Art. GTC co-wrote the score for E-Ticket, a short by experimental filmmaker Simon Liu, which recently screened at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Sundance Film Festival, and at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. He is a founding member of the music group Underworld Oscillator Corporation, and regularly collaborates with the multimedia film collective Optipus.
