Long term Seven Hills friend and collaborator Thee J Johanz returns to wax for the third instalment of our original release series. 

This release runs close to the heart for Johanz as it was produced in the wake of his mother’s passing and stands as a profoundly personal eulogy for loved ones passed. Where Goes Your Soul? has all the trademark spiralling synth lines and hypnotic rhythm making that we have come to love in Johanz’s music making. 

The title track of the EP: Where Goes Your Soul? stands alone on the A side but carries more than enough weight to hold its own. Stabbing synths build alongside a subtly haunting vocal, up to an awesome crescendo and intoxicating groove. Kicking off the B side is Two C Bee, an aptly psychedelic mix of soft pads and helical synth arpeggios. The EP closes with an impressive bubbling analogue landscape, Analex. This beat-less masterpiece with a sincerely cinematic feel, rounds things off in style.

"The next Undersound chapter is curated by Israeli artist @gal-prz under his PRZ moniker. While the producer has been known for his rougher outings, here he delights us with a mix of italo-inspired 4/4 jams and electro and break tracks composed in his hardware-laden studio. Both “Under Control” and “Luv Trk” on the A-side offer a peculiar view into the artist’s style and inspirations, with arpeggiated bass lines and evocative emotional leads.

“Expiration” on the flip side hits the listener with its punchy 808 snares and moody vocoder. “One Day” and “The Answer” offer different but complementary moods to close off this diverse EP, with the melancholy and emotion of the former contrasting the playful 303 and synths of the latter, all driven by a chugging 909 breakbeat."

Nathan Micay is pleased to present the next re-issue on Eternal Schvitz: Aaron Palmquist - Cohesion EP. As a mainstay of the Canadian underground rave scene during the 90’s, Aaron (aka Chameleon) performed live at legendary Toronto parties such as Exodus, Chemistry and Pleasure Force. Using an assortment of gear including two TB303’s, a TR909 and 808 drum machine, he was able to road test a number of originals, eventually leading to an EP in 1997 on Solo Recoridings. Restored from the original DAT tapes and now available for everyone. As always, Schvitz gives back. To fight the evil no-ID-DJ forces currently at work, every Eternal Schvitz release will be providing 60% of the cut to the artists and ensuring their credits are front and centre. The remaining 40% of profits will go to aequa, a Berlin-based collective with a focus on empowerment of women, trans and non- binary folks through gatherings for interpersonal exchange.
