Brisbane's finest import, and curator of @thespacebetweenus, has recently taken the Melbourne scene by storm with her fun, groovy style & flawless skill. This mix is total euphoria, which I think really reflects the mood of the Melbourne scene at the moment in a (sort of) post-covid world.

Although somewhat a new kid on the block when it comes to producing dance music, Maara has been shifting gears in the scene and is killing it on all fronts as of late. With a killer debut EP landing on NAFF Recordings earlier this year, followed by a recent follow-up on Daniel Rincon run record label ISLA, her productions hit the sweet spot between the ethereal ambience of hazy afterhours ecstasy and tripped-out techno leanings. Wasting no time, Maara dives deep into a propulsive assembly of proggy house delights, blissful trance grooves and hypnotic techno, as she supplies our latest mix and we catch up to hear the latest. Fantastic Man has become one of the most exciting and revered producers on the circuit having released music on the likes of Mule, Love on the Rocks and Kitjen. He is also the founder of Superconscious Records alongside Griffin James.

As a DJ his musical taste is broad and wide ranging, drawing upon far reaching influences from the realm of House, Trance, Downtempo, Balearic and beyond. As such you never quite know what you are going to get but that's all part of the fun right?

Most recently he has been dabbling in a fast paced, new age approach to House and Trance - channeling the free spirited energy of the 90's and a sun kissed era for dance music.

Some might feel it to be nostalgic but he is very much at the forefront of a new wave of producers and DJ's looking to breathe life into and reinvigorate the sound.

This mixtape is one of the best we've heard in a while and is rightly suited to a Friday.
