It's inspiring to see how far Get Down Edits have come in the last few years since that Herb Albert edit hit my inbox and the first time we had them as guest dj's at one of our nights in Dublin to now, where you are very likely to catch them djing in any European city most weekends.

Get Down Edits Bio
Since the late 90’s Waterford born duo Daz and Martin have been tearing up dance floors across the country and further a field with their unique fusion of 70’s and 80’s funk and soul, Nu-Disco and their own disco edits; Get Down Edits: Vol 1-3. The two lads have bags of experience to match their talent and our guaranteed to get a party started as soon as the turntables are switched on. With a mammoth vinyl collection between the two of them you can expect to hear an eclectic mix of tracks every time they put together a set, making each one unmissable. The boys have gained praise from some of the biggest names in House such as Brooklyn stalwart Kerri Chandler, who was greatly impressed by the ‘Get Down Edits’ sound when he played alongside the pair a few years back. With ‘Get Down Edits: Vol 1-3’ all selling out it is clear to say that their productions are as tight as their sets. Get Down Edits have also released tracks on a range of other labels including Disco Deviance, Editorial, Midnite Riot, Glenview Records and Los Grandes. The Get Down Edits groove has been brought to festivals and gigs across Europe such as the Electric Elephant festival in Croatia, Disco Deviance in London and back to back dates in Budapest at the end of 2011. Daz and Martin have also brought some great international acts to our shores for their own successful club-night, ‘Get Down’ (Chez Damier, John Daly and Greg Wilson to name but three). 2012 has been a great year to date with gigs in Newcastle and in London at the House of Disco Warehouse Project, it also seen their most recent edit outing, Get Down Edits Vol:3, selling out on Juno within a few days of its release. The guys are already making plans for volume four which is sure to be jam packed with killer edits yet again. Darren Daz Dalton aka one half of dj duo Get Down Edits & the man behind all the Get Down Edits production work has been a music lover since his early teens & began collecting Vinyl back in 95 at the tender age of 15 by the time he hit 17 he was out playing gigs in bars & clubs in his native Waterford City & has been djin ever since, 
Over the years he has supported or played beside international djs like Kenny Dope (MAW), 
Kerri Chandler, Chez Damier, Greg Wilson, DJ Deep, The Revenge, Atjazz & Charles Webster to name a few & as part of Get Down Edits alongside dj partner Martin Roche has 
been doing the festival and international circuit with great reception playing some incredible events including the famous Glastonbury in 2016, Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, Electric Elephant in Croatia, the House of Disco Warehouse Project Takeover in London, and so on. Summer 2017 saw Get Down Edits playing as part of the Glitterbox Ibiza family alongside huge names like Dimitri From Paris and Aeroplane at the incredible Hi Ibiza venue and Defected Croatia at The Garden in Tisno, they also went onto to play Suncebeat Croatia,
Production wise Darren grew a curiosity & interest in how the records he was playing were put together very early & started doing edits for use in his own dj sets back 2001,
It was years later before the whole edit scene emerged & he was drawn to it straight away & under the advise & encouragement of Greg Wilson set up Get Down Edits the record label in 2011, since then the labels put out 6 vinyl releases which included his own edit work along side guest producers like Late Nite Tuff Guy, Deep & Disco (JKriv), Fingermann, LTJ as well as releasing with other labels including Disco Deviance, Editorial, Samosa Records, Glenview Records, Daje Funk, Queen & Disco, Wall Of Fame, Masterworks Music, Nang, Paper Disco, Hot Digits, File Under Disco, Re-Loved, Golden Soul, Slighty Transformed, Hotbox Boogie, Reckless Records, Deep Sense, Alpaca Edits, Unkwn Records, Ism Records, Elevation Recordings & Midnight Riot.
Darren has also been busy with remix work & has remixed for artists like Funk My Jesus, Nine Lives, Heion, Slync, JMRS, Darran Nugent, Oh Yeah, JFunc, Stephen Richards, Smashed Atoms, JB Dizzy, Jay Ru, Fran Deeper & Rayko, Soopaman inc feat Andre Espeut, JKriv & The Disco Machine As well fellow Irish artists & acts like Le Galaxie, King Kong Company, Kormac, Danny G & The Major 7th`s & Peter Vogelaar as well as written some original pieces of his own including “Sweet Love” where he teamed up with two piece Irish electronic act Cut Once which got released with a serious of remixes from Mix & Fairbanks, Fingerman, Jay Ru, Micko Roche,

After finding the rave scene in 1990, Lee bought his first set of decks a year or two later. Initially influenced by the music in the North West and clubs like Legends (Warrington), The Quad, Cream, The Hacienda he started his music collection and would play at parties, the odd bar gig and create mixtapes for friends.

Fast forward to the turn of the decade (and century!), now living in London, Lee was part of an underground party collective called Most Excellent, putting on parties at various South London venues such as Brockwell Park Lido and The Telegraph (Brixton), playing classic, funky and soulful house music playing alongside a few notable guests like Trevor Fung and Stuart Patterson. 

After a break of about 10 years to get married and start a family, he started listening to the likes of Fingerman, LNTG, The Reflex and was hooked on the underground edits and disco scene. The decks were dusted off and he started to buy music again…

Lee is now proud to be part of the #DiscoWaltons family, a DJ, Producer and music fan collective who frequent the chatrooms of some of the best music shows and livestreams available to humankind!
