Hitting the sweet spot between dynamic workout and tranquil bliss, Dexter Colt's debut EP has a timeless quality to it. Spanning five club cuts that nod to '90s tech-house, Detroit-style techno and classic house, each one coated in a lustrous and futuristic glaze, Train of Thought celebrates the Singapore-based producer's rich understanding of dance music. Crafted with an array of synthesizers, the record boasts luxuriously soft pads, deep melodies–portals to self-reflection or escapism–and rolling drums that keep listeners locked in a hypnotic groove. The slow-burning "AM To PM" sets the mood with minimal yet deliciously heady notes that Indonesian boogie master Munir later transforms into a funky, electro-influenced number. "U Feel Me" builds dancefloor pressure through crisp claps and a rhythmic, undulating bassline that doesn't quit. "Spiralling" is a Fatima Yamaha-style seducer with acidic squiggles that lend the track a psychedelic touch. Punchy drums and chopped vocals steal the show on "Off The Brons," an easy floor filler that showcases the power of a simple arrangement. Finally, "Front Shuv" offers seven minutes of blissful house music with a mystical flute sample that tugs at the heartstrings.

Equally kinetic as it is mediative, Train of Thought journeys across hard-hitting and silky styles of club music. Made for the mind, body and soul, it guarantees to deliver through all hours of the night.

At the heart of the Awesome Soundwave project is a dedication to live and innovative music and their latest body of work lives up to that perfectly. 

Master of his craft Stimming showcases an all hardware LP that goes by the name of - “Elderberry”. Experience distinct atmospheres from beginning to end as Stimming steers you on a journey of ethereal techno, melding genres as he moves blissfully between the ten tracks. The beautiful long play will land on the 29th of September ready to be added to your collection. 

For this enriched album Stimming decided to take a new approach to his production utilising hardware only embracing the challenges that it comes with but simultaneously the never ending outcomes as a musician. When stepping out of the box amazing things happen and Stimming tries to elevate this inspiration and funnel that into the “Elderberry” exploration, using machines such as blackbox/bluebox, intech controller, DOCtron IMC and various other gera throughout the tracks. Minimal editing was made on a computer at the end to condense arrangements. 

Musically Stimming never shies away from depth and emotion, and manages to capture moments with each and every movement, something that can be found here in the likes of “Morgentau” and “Golden Tree”, the charming drive of tracks such as “The Seeker” or the raw and organic energy of “People Do” and “She Hates That Chord”. There is a sense of purity throughout.  

A match made in heaven as Awesome Soundwave and Stimming meet, both aspiring to deliver timeless music and fresh and original ways and “Elderberry” is just that, embodying the ethos of both the label and artist. A first time collaboration, but hopefully not the last! 

“My goal was to chase the energy that appears when playing around with hardware only, in contrast to 'designing' a track in the box, which, after so many years, I found myself to be tired of, the immediacy and playfulness from a hardware-only techno livejam is a different type of energy. It's not as precise and on-point like the "riser, noise and drop" mechanics but has more of a long-term, evolving energy that is aimed at listeners and dancers that understand techno more as a journey instead of a "closely guided freak out" - Stimming

Greta Levska returns to Get Physical with a superb new three-track EP that shows her real love of all things electro.

Greta Levska is a Lithuanian-born, London-raised, Russian-speaking Ibiza resident who draws on all of that heritage in her music. She has quickly risen through the ranks with releases on labels like Poker Flat, Shall Not Fade and Dance Trax (UTTU) as well as this one, and never fails to set the club alight with her eclectic and storytelling DJ sets. This summer alone she has made her mark in Ibiza once more playing iconic venues such as Pikes and Destino across IMS, as well as becoming the newest Amnesia Presents resident every Monday with Danny Howard & Gorgon City, She has also played for Pyramid and Do Not Sleep and remains a regular on Ibiza Sonica Radio with multiple guest shows across the summer.

The brilliant 'Break It' kicks off with a steamy electro rhythm and booming kick drums. Moody bass waves in and out below while a dark vocal loop adds an extra edge to the alluring late-night atmosphere. 'Globa Trattas' is another analogue electro jam with vocoder vocals adding a future edge over the rubbery bass and crispy snares. It's pure body music with plenty of cyborg style. Closer 'MIA Dreams' picks up the pace with a barrage of kinetic drum funk and taught bass stabs that keep dancers on their toes as the whirring synths take things ever higher.

This is a fresh and classy electro EP that announces Greta Levska's skills in some style.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari. There have also been carefully considered forays into thriving house music scenes in Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Croatia and India: dedicated compilations and EPs have highlighted those region's most exciting new talents and given them a global platform. 

The name says it all: Get Physical tracks could hardly be more moving and corporeal. It was true in 2002, and it will be true in 2022 and beyond. To celebrate the occasion, the label will reissue some of its most classic tracks, host special anniversary events and release a new range of merchandise in collaboration with Australian brand One Teaspoon. Get Physical has already made a huge contribution to the history of contemporary house music, but rest assured the German label still has plenty more to say.
