As we embrace the onset of Spring Break in the radiant ambiance of South Florida, and eagerly anticipate the vibrant energy of Miami Music Week 2024, I am thrilled to bring you all a meticulously curated musical odyssey in this month's mix. Embark on this journey with me as we delve into a tapestry of sonic marvels, comprising both the raw essence of original compositions and the innovative reinterpretations crafted by a distinguished lineup of artists.

Among the luminaries gracing our sonic voyage are Forty Cats, GMJ, Matter, Ivan Aliaga, Jamie Stevens, Erdi Irmak, Makebo, and the burgeoning talent of Maze 28. Joining them is Antrim, poised to make his grand debut in the Miami scene on March 14th, adding an extra layer of excitement to our musical expedition. Father Ocean" is the fulfillment of a musical promise to humbly thank and honor the powerful and cathartic depths of the sea. A tale of a man in need of guidance who is called into the water and gets caught in a magnificent oceanic storm. Rain starts to pour down, washing away his penumbra by bringing discernment about what is not Love. Meanwhile, the waves hit him fiercely like the primal confrontation with his own shadow, making up the perfect scenario for him to amusingly research the depths of his core.

By embracing his shadows and feeling the power of gravity on his shoulders, he understands he has been carrying the weight of his unconscious limiting beliefs. As they are brought to the light of awareness, they lose strength over him. This realization is so cathartic that the storm suddenly ceases, and the sun starts to shine again. As it always does... But this time it reminds him that, sometimes, Love shines brightest in the dark.

So, he found his way back to the land. As he steps again on firm soil, he looks back at the ocean and bows in gratitude and reverence for having found the guidance he so much needed within himself. He then makes a promise and leaves, knowing the path he is to take.

When listening to Ezio Aguiar's sets, regardless of tempo or genre, one notices a particular mysticism mixed with different organic, melodic and progressive elements.

He would call himself a believer in the healing and connecting power of music and dance. And if you have ever caught him dancing with his eyes closed behind the decks, then you probably understand why. Enjoy our latest deep story with Ezio Aguiar.

The closing of Mensch Meier in December 2023 was a symbolic happening in the Berliner scene. With its inclusive mindset, it was one of Berlin's most renowned clubs. This is why its re-opening by the owners as Abstrakt represented a huge victory for the scene and city itself. A celebration I've had the privillege to be part of by playing a dj set from on saturday night / sunday morning from 2:00 to 4:00.

This set was truly one for the books, and I very much enjoyed playing a bit faster and stronger than my usual sound. Keeping the flow throughout the set was pretty challenging for me though, as I mostly played spontaneously and I often simply didn't know what to play next. But, in the end, this only added to how special that night turned out to be. The renovated Lichtung (formerly known as Räuberhöhle) is terrific! I didn't know they had rebuilt the floor for the opening, and when I saw it my excitement went through the roof <3

 This time, I've managed to record the crowd as well, so you can hopefully feel what I am talking about. Happy listening (:

Progressive & organic house enthusiast from hypnotic to soulful grooves Aaron Cashion (AKA Frank Moss) enjoys creating a dance floor memory.

With early influence from listening to artists like Egbert, Dubfire and Booka Shade, Aaron’s music career wasn’t ignited until he started to run the infamous Fake Chow where his tastes in music started to flourish. Learning to curate lineups and promote underground music to a city that some would say wasn’t ready, he pushed those boundaries and played an integral part in growing electronic music and creating a cultural hub for Geelong. From there he has created and/or operated other businesses and parties like Ain’t No Siesta, Pivot City Music, UNO Danceclub, Menikmati DJ School and Bloom Nightclub, making Aaron a predominant figure in the Geelong underground music scene. And now he’s stepping away from Geelong and running progressive house events in Melbourne under his new creation, “With the Grain”.

Aside from running his own successful parties and mentoring the next generation of local DJs, Aaron has added a huge list of achievements to his resume: sharing the DJ booth with Guy J, Kasper Koman, Budakid, Khen, Patrice Baumel, Volen Sentir, Yotto, Dosem, Jeremy Olander, Victor Ruiz, Dubfire, Oliver Schories and more plus playing at some of the best festivals and venues Australia has to offer.

Getafixx mixes a range of beautiful and blissful electronica, IDM and ambient tracks with a sprinkling of voice/film/folly samples that add to the emotional roller-coaster of the aural mix. Taking inspiration from the Future Sound of London’s radio broadcasts, as well as from the philosophy of sampling anything if it sounds right, Getafixx creates music mixes that are far more than just mixes, they have to be listened to not just heard, they provoke thought as well as soothe the soul.
