As an abstract exploration of identity, Lost In The Ebb finds dark, thoughtful lyricism in conjunction with a psychedelic fusion of surf rock, neo-soul, hip-hop, and Brazilian guitar. Telling personal stories through poetic lyrics, intricate instrumentation, and dreamlike vocal harmonies, the record captures the essence of coastal California. The songs carry their own independent energy yet function seamlessly within the album as a whole. It flows like the sea-- shifting, rising, and dropping-- leaving you in an altered state, elated, inspired, emotional. Getaway Dogs' personal influences of people, place, culture, and nature, as well as their own evolution as artists, is evident in this memento.

London x Rome duo Malihini (Giampaolo Speziale and Federica Caiozzo) have shared their second single "Miss" premiering via DIY.

Produced by Richard Formby (Wild Beasts, Darkstar, Ghostpoet), Miss deals with the quintessential topics that form every relationship: 
""Miss" is a love song, containing memories and hopes and fears," say the band. "When we were writing it we found ourselves in one of those rhythmic loops. A loop that felt tribal, almost. We scrambled some words together and they came out so naturally it felt like we were exhaling the lyrics rather than writing them."
"Richard Formby was a lot of fun to work with, he goes deep into the songs and generates layers where you couldn't imagine there being layers. He's a lovely human, too."

About Malihini
Giampaolo Speziale and Federica Caiozzo met in early 2015 and, in what Federica describes as a "moment of surrender," decided to start making music together on a road trip through Austria, Germany and Poland. The duo gathered thirty improvised musical ideas and spent eight days recording with their friend and drummer Alberto Paone in a Roman studio.
Last year, they decided to break from their previous musical incarnations and moved from Rome to London, taking with them a hard drive of songs, a battered suitcase and vinyl copies of Nick Drake's Five Leaves Left and Stevie Wonder's Hotter Than July.
"Miss" comes hot on the heels of debut single "Waiting," recorded in Camberwell in the house of an Egyptologist and subsequently championed by the likes of Loud and Quiet, Stereogum and TLOBF. The duo have since decamped to Sicily, where they are working on their as yet untitled debut album.

On November 2nd 2019, Getaway Dogs celebrated the release of their sophomore project BELONG with a packed house at the now deceased San Francisco venue, Amnesia (on Valencia street). One of the songs they performed that night was KEEP, a high-energy, groove heavy song with a big psychedelic-rock meets-Afro-Latin instrumental intro. On the record, the song is a solo acoustic lullaby, the band had been wanting to bring the live version to life. The sound engineer that night, a local legend by the name of Charles James Gonzalez, was so stoked on the show he decided to approach the band afterwards to invite them to record at a quasi-mythical studio he was affiliated with in West Oakland. Equally stoked, they said “of course!” and a month later found themselves at Coyote Hearing, a magical space packed with vintage instruments, analog preamps and creativity oozing out of the walls, tracking this psych-soul-lovedream-lullaby. They called it KEEP II.
