treating myself to finally releasing this (old) tune. might just get stuff out of my way before i keep thinking of the next "big hit" ep...

...in which i absolutely do not have time for. maybe some day, but not now.

this song encapsulates my entire feeling of my wondrous group of friends. i would trade little else away, for they are what i selfishly wish could last for eternity. it's entirely coincidental the track is riddim, i swear. 

happy birthday, me. hope you will learn to love what you do come time for it, whenever that is.

"Tards"

this song was the first out of my continuous ep i started way back. also the last i finished, with 11 progressive iterations. it was held back from upload as well due to me wanting it to be part of something bigger.

simple sounds made brrrr was the premise of the sound design. not too bad, i thought.

as a hurrah to stupid ambitions, i rounded off the tail end of this song instead of trailing it to a potential next song. two years... seriously?!

"Nowhere"

the original temp title was "hi hanna" for the longest time due to this track initially inspired by a track i heard from them.

held off on releasing this as i wanted to try my hand in dolling up a continuous ep with this song as a starter. didn't go as planned, save the details. also did not take too well with the criticism of it sounding *very* similar to another song a famous wubwub artist made... hmph.

now it has been so so long i cannot imagine another title for this track. what a derp.

"Hanna"

the happiest leads i have ever sound'ed.

it hasn't been long since i ended my last relationship, much less make a tune. the time that had suddenly opened up to me i decided to spend with my close mates, pouring my heart out to all that went right and mostly wrong.

so why not lift my mood up even further by making a happy song?

additive synthesis for the win! sound design for lead synths are not to be scoffed at in the slightest. music theory helps immensely too, by bringing over my experience with eurobeat to draw the harmony.

i dream about us every now and then. ah well...

"Hanging Out/Moving On"

sound design is my passion... not really.

having heard the recent simulation ep by virtual riot, i got inspired by a few of his songs and wanted to push my fubar brain beyond it's bend minus wub wub sound. it was originally going to be an even longer track, but i eventually lost so much focus and power over the first drop i decided to split the drop into two different halves and a simple bridge.

this was originally going to be a closer song to my "ep", but i got two more tracks to upload...

"DOWNBAD"

mid-september while contemplating hard on whether further education in a field where i am only experienced with due to my hobbies was a good future plan, i went through with all that i have had done for the past 5 to 10 years or so and decided i should really try out this hit new genre called "colour bass"ssssss. it has been a while since i made anything substantial with my music stuff too so why not?

with much tutorials and references online, i settled on purely using vocodex only because i have more experience with this plugin than any other else. besides, most costs money in which i do not wish to part with.

i had contemplated on posting this on my second account, but it's not like i rejected this song or whatever. quite liked it in fact (save for the intro), but not enough to think of a good name for it... ergh.

after realising damn near all my songs using the 6-7-1 progression, i wanted to try something different. that's it, really.

the rest of the sound design came up with a vibe that i believed sounded like acloudyskye's older works. i loved it to bits, despite the "dissapointing" effort it took to come up with it.

it ended up with just good feelings overall and had been looped in my ears since early last year. never planned to include it in the "ep", but now that i am releasing all this stuff...

why not release this too?
