Marie Wilhelmine Anders’ new, multi-genre concept album “Frozen Music” follows up on her albums “Travels” (Broque) and “She’s Leaving” (Noisy Meditation). Being her fifth album, which refers to the poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson, "Frozen Music" also evolves around another main source if inspiration that is drum ’n’ bass: Sunchase (who mastered „Frozen Music“ superbly), dBridge, Calibre, Krust, Goldie (Mother!), Optical, T.Power, LTJ Bukem, Banaczech, are just a few of her main influences. While searching for the connecting elements between the poem template from the late 19th century and the time when d’n’b was created 100 years later, she found the sound of the foghorn, invented in the year Stevenson was born. The foghorn was first installed in Jamaican sound systems in the 1950s, and it created an unexpected power in the bass range, and from there found its way into the raves and d’n’b productions of the children of the "Windrush" generation in the UK. The second connecting element Marie found was the music of Claude Debussy: his "liquid works" (David Toop) - influenced by the music of Java, Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan - in turn influenced the later generation of ambient music producers. The chord progressions from his "Prelude" from "Pour Le Piano" reappear in a stretched and filtered form in Marie’s ambient intro track "Prelude" and in a few other places in "Frozen Music“. The nine tracks of "Frozen Music" find their very own form in the atmospheric recreation of the pictorial language of Stevenson's poem "Evensong" and in its relationship to some of the most fascinating genres in electronic music. Being a classically trained composer Marie juxtaposes ambient, breaks, d’n’b and techno. She approaches the boundaries of genres with a kind of innocence, always listening to the connections between the different styles. In “Frozen Music” she picks up on these connections. This works so well because the musical forms often don't adhere to what you would deem traditional structure. Dynamic quality, form, sound design and, last but not least, the mix of her music are all the more carefully coordinated and result in a catchy flow that makes „Frozen Music“ another masterpiece, that not only brings food for thought, but, most importantly, transports the grooving d’n’b sound of the 90’s onto the contemporary stage.

Kyma Komplex returns with the first extended play by ‘Ledi Cannit’ 'Liebe überwindet alles'. She takes listeners on a deeply personal journey into the transformative power of love. Crafted as a gift for a significant other, this EP marks a departure in style and tone for Ledi. The music explores sentimental melodies and slower BPMs, creating an atmosphere of introspection and emotional resonance. Each track narrates a different facet of the love journey, from the initial attraction to its myriad expressions, leading to a recognition of love's divine source. The trip comes with remixes by Lucas Novaes, Dikitnet & Chico Vento.

Machine Cult is an electronic music platform hosted by Déandrah and Garçon Taupe. Functions on one side as a record label. On the other, an event series showcasing a part of what the local and international scene the Netherlands has to offer. Edition one is taking place in OT301 (Amsterdam) on the 25th of November.

Scouring from the surfaces of Amsterdam and Rotterdam comes out 6 original tracks composed by the following artists. 

Déandrah (AMS), Garçon Taupe (AMS), marienus (RTM), MoodSwings (AMS), The Spy (AMS) and xceptor (RTM).

In a world where we have too many choices, but not enough guts to pursue any of them, motivational speaking and councillors become the next billionaires, to inject the fearful with confidence so that they may excel at their passion and make the world a better place by self adoration, collaboration and not competition.

Intricacies of noise, self-development of taste and homages to  past times, a compilation of works from new upcomers and scene veterans. Having captured the face of a pseudo-mentalist, these artists have noted the effect of the long exposure to sound that may have affected their biomechanical characteristics. 

For a while, you will discover new things, and it is all so exciting and fresh, because this altered state gives you new perception, in and hindsight.  Music Theory, out of all things, can also have some pretty nasty effects on your body. All of it can mean you can start suffering long before you become a musician.

You’ll probably start looking ill, losing weight and feeling like you might deserve it.You’ll begin to play instruments not to get high anymore, but only because that is your new standardised norm. You simply don’t know what else to do. As you lose control of your body’s health you could eventually lose control over your mind too. 

Until  one day you’ll wake up knowing that, instead of continuing investing yourself in your instruments, they slowly become controlling towards you. So, if a friend invites you to a jam session, use your brain, while you still can. And just, say, yes.

This is a especial track I've made recently. I've been having some visual fatigue with the computer and started to compose more simple tracks using some synths, a sequencer and a drum machine. They sound a bit different than the music I do with the computer, but I like the results. It is another vibe.
