Split between Bristol & London, duo Bordertown have firmly established themselves in recent times, with releases on heavyweight labels such as Toolroom & Nurvous. A perfect fit to Get Twisted Records, Bordertown’s Love & Other Drugs E.P is the complete package for DJ's & music lovers a like.

The opening track on the E.P "Never Leave Me", is an infectious straight dance floor filler. A throw back to 90’s house, it serves up an offering of crisp percussion, beautifully combined organs & a classic house piano. The introduction of the vocal really sets this track alight beautifully implementing suspense throughout its cleverly arranged builds and emphatic drops.

Having A Party oozes energy from the get go, with cleverly chopped vocals and an infectious piano lick leading the way. Then comes the horny stuff, the monster bass line reminiscent of the speed garage era takes full effect. A Rip roaring sub melody combined with cleverly placed counter bass notes makes "having a party" a sure dance floor filler. A re introduction of the house piano accompanied by some classic breaks gives the track a new life and a chance to breathe before you’re hit by that sub sonic rumble once again.

Rounding off the E.P, is "Love You", a straight underground foot shuffler. Its memorable bass tone is perfectly balanced amongst warm pads, thumping kick and rolling snare. Accompanied by its infectious hook line the words "I can love you" will surely stay in the listeners mind long after the track has ended.

London continues to provide the house scene with an influx of fresh talent, And Get Twisted's latest edition is sure to be one of these future stars. "Deceptive" knows only too well about the culture that gripped the nation in the early 90’s. Becoming a regular clubber, He took to the studio in the mid to late 00’s to express his passion for house music. It wasn’t long until he started to see success mounting up with a few releases under his belt with a previous alias. He now plays on the heartstrings of any old school raver with his straight up intentions of creating dance floor friendly vibes, the prefect fit for Get Twisted Records.

In lead track ‘Down With Me’ Deceptive shows glimpses of his past influences. Hard hitting garage drums, swing percussion & a sweet vocal set the tone of the record from the outset. A chugging bass line drives the record, while the lead line shows Deceptive’s emergence from the rave scene. ‘Down With Me’ is strong from start to finish, perfect for injecting energy into any dance floor.

Don’t Make is a more housey affair. From the get go its balanced padwork and strings build emphatically to a beast of a bassline. But where this track really comes into its own is during the breakdown. While pads and strings give a sense of euphoria, the thunderous kick and lead change up take this track to a deeper level. 
A debut E.P from Deceptive sets the standard for what is set to be a promising future!

Remix duties come form non other than James Silk. His rendition ‘Down With Me’ is stripped back, offering a deeper & more techy option. A full chugging bass is accompanied by sharp hats, punchy percussion & a plucky top.

Deceptive - Down with me (Get Twisted Records)

S. Jay has made a huge impact on the scene in such a short space of time. With a remix for Groove Armada under his belt, not to mention releases on Low Steppa’s imprint Simma Black & Love Not Money just to name a few. He is growing from strength to strength with every release & this next installment on Get Twisted Records is a testament to that.

Opening track ‘Roller’ is exactly that, a straight up rolling house number, crisp percussion a catchy hook with a ‘rolling bass line’. The introduction of bright melodic chords & classic house stabs take this track to a happier place, just in time for summer months ahead.

‘On My Mind’ is a slightly deeper number, primed for the dance floor & main rooms. Again we find some clever use of percussion, accompanied with cute vocal chops balanced perfectly with an infectious grooving bass line.
Big in sound, big in energy, big in the club!

‘Utopia’ as the title suggests offers an all together sweeter feeling, embracing more tech elements in its sound. Its catchy uplifting vocal is balanced against a grooving sub rolling bass providing the  perfect soundtrack to both the after hours parties and summer terrace alike.

Last but by no means least is ‘Ready’. A sub roaring, bass driven house number with an infectious haunting hook line. A certified club banger, that will hold its own on any dance floor.

From the bouncing original mix by Ste himself to the uplifting sounds of Kane's huge piano breakdown, the grinding basses brought only by the exclusive Animist dub, and last but certainly not least - the S. Jay & Ostertag remix which pitch-plays the vocal into a mind bending groove with an awesome catchy bassline...

All this plus a re-release of Ste's successful 'Flirtin' debut and an additional monster groover 'Feed You' all make this EP any DJ's must have...
