ANNIHILVS proudly presents the first preview from the self-titled full-length from KINTAAN, coming in 2017.

KINTAAN is the trio of Eric Grieshaber (VOSP, FINISHED), Marc Jameson (former member of SKIN CRIME), and Josh Yelle (LVMMVX, LONGPIG) who have been working together for the past decade, but have yet to produce a proper release. We intend to remedy this in 2017, with the digipak CD-R edition of their debut self-titled full-length. This will coincide with a vinyl edition released by CONCRETE LO FI, and a cassette on DANVERS STATE.

KINTAAN is heavy beyond heavy. An unsettling super-hybrid of psychedelic avant-doom and industrial noise, all coagulated into a dense and murky cloud of dissonance and malaise.

ANNIHILVS proudly presents the title track from WRETCHED, the long-awaited collaborative/split release by Providence-based purveyors of difficult music, GYNA BOOTLEG and LVMMVX.

Josh Yelle (KINTAAN, DHIM) has been working solo as LVVMVX for roughly five years now. LVMMVX constructs opaque walls of sound and capacious reverberations, generating impenetrable drones and sonorous percussion with an arsenal consisting of cello, voice, and effects.
 
GYNA BOOTLEG, vocalist for garbage rock act TINSEL TEETH, deviant black metal band SIRE, and mutant post-death freaks IN HEAT, among a bevy of other collaborators, is the ultimate modern provocateur, sliding sluglike across the edge between art and pornography, insolence and degeneracy.Together, these purveyors of obscure audio art have manifested an inchoate mass of nauseating black space, where the human soul wriggles in horror upon a bed of maggots.

This album features two solo tracks by each project, as well as two pieces recorded in collaboration with each other. There will be additional bonus material in the digital version of the release featuring collaborations with THEOLOGIAN. The album was mastered by Andrew Grant (THE VOMIT ARSONIST/DHIM).

Controlled Death is a new project by the Japanese noise legend Maso Yamazaki a.k.a. Masonna. In April 2018 he decided to make a shudder debut with 1st album "Symphony For The Black Murder" . In this LP, Maso Yamazaki tried to commit to the dark side of psychedelia deepest in his own projects history and surprised the fans, but as soon as it gets excited, it is the 2nd work the wooden black box "Journey Through A Dead Body" & "Deathwish Tapes 1-3".
Cracked minimal electronic sound by Korg MS-20, unclear and disturbing voice, corroded drone effect, with the influence of primitive black metal and dark ritual in "Journey Through A Dead Body" LP which developed a moisturized doom world while wearing a raw material texture. Anxiety, alienation and hypochondria turn into a deep paranoia in pain. Without hesitation, the bodies are emptied, leaving the field to an electronics purulence of rare power disconcerting: a perfect journey through a dead body.
And  the sound contained in the CD and two cassettes called "Deathwish Tapes 1-3" are  direct feeling which developed the idea at the time to making "Journey Through A Dead Body" . In order to record it, it is said to be connected to a microphone at the input of the Korg MS - 20 and recorded on a cassette tape with a single recording. It is nothing to call it mindfuck, its freshness is only fear.
The activities of Controlled Death are like archaic revival to the music experience before Masonna. We can also find the pathology image of the early industrial period and the shadows of Vienna activism such as Hermann Nitsch. The existence and art that pierces through conspicuous consciousness and dives to areas of unconsciousness due to death and pleasure. While taking death as the strongest drug, the season of second summer of death industrial is coming. About 2 hours and 30 minutes of astonishing storm of echoes that bangs it into your head!

Denovali is pleased to present Cycle and Reveal, the fourth full length LP of contemporary classical works by acclaimed composer Mario Diaz de Leon. Featuring bold performances by a cast of longtime collaborators, this compilation is an essential chapter in his celebrated series of recordings for acoustic instruments and electronics.
 
The output of Mario Diaz de Leon defies easy categorization, spanning the worlds of contemporary classical composition, experimental electronic music, extreme metal, and creative improvised music. Working extensively with an inner circle of close collaborators (ICE, Talea, and TAK Ensemble, among others) his classical works have been celebrated over the last decade for their “hallucinatory intensity” (New York Times), “snarling exuberance” (Pitchfork), “helter-skelter, electronically enhanced cadenzas” (New Yorker Magazine), and coupling of “crystalline clarity with the disorienting turbulence of a sonic vortex” (Wire Magazine). 
 
The A-side features two works written in early 2017, which colorfully embrace hypnotic repetition alongside dynamic contrasts and distinctly embody the electrifying post-minimalism that Diaz de Leon is known for. Opener Sacrament is written for a trio of musicians from Talea Ensemble and features the composer’s shimmering, bass heavy electronic production. This energetic piece, driven by the virtuosity of marimba player and Talea executive director Alex Lipowski, makes use of rapid-fire arpeggiations and heavy rhythmic unisons. These are starkly contrasted with moments of reverberant echo, bursts of noise in the flute and electronics, and ecstatic rhythms. Labrys, written for ICE bassoonist Rebekah Heller, builds on the celebrated legacy of solo + electronic works heard on his 2015 album The Soul is the Arena. Built around virtuosic interplay between bassoon and synthesizer, Labrys features shifting and hypnotic repetition alongside expansive melodies and sub-bass frequencies.
 
The B-side consists of two works composed in July of 2016 which draw from primal, incantatory, and improvisatory sonic landscapes. Irradiance, a collaboration with cellist Mariel Roberts, begins with a series of spacious riffs exploring the extremes of the cello’s register and transforms over time into a climactic frenzy of noise loops. Tuning the cello’s low C down to a growling G, Roberts interpreted the sounds of each pre-recorded loop by ear.  The piece gradually builds from cavernous depths into an ecstatic climax of anarchic noise. Concluding track Mysterium is written for the ICE trio of flutist and ensemble founder Claire Chase, clarinetist and artistic director emeritus Joshua Rubin, and bassoonist and current artistic director Rebekah Heller. Archaic melodies, improvised heterophony, spectral transformations, echoes of Klang-era Stockhausen, and the colorful noise of Moog and Ciat-Lonbarde synthesizers combine to create an expansive and wildly ritualistic atmosphere.
 
Cycle and Reveal was recorded in vivid detail by Marc Urselli (John Zorn, Laurie Anderson) at East Side Sound, Stephen McLaughlin at EMPAC, and mastered by Ryan Streber at Oktaven Audio. Diaz de Leon invited Melbourne-based visual artist Yuria Okamura to design the cover image and inner sleeve symbols. Sharing Diaz de Leon’s interest in the reinterpretation of spiritual art, Okamura’s cover “maps and reconfigures geometric patterns and symbols that reference esoteric symbolism, occult diagrams, religious architecture and decoration.”
