The story behind the lyrics on “Killing my Time” revolve around a girl I was seeing, who kept distracting me from making music. My bedroom is my studio and she only wanted to stay in bed and make love all day. It was hard to escape and be productive so I inevitably I ended up breaking up with her because I wanted to focus. It was fresh on my mind once I sat down to write this song. She was “Killing my Time."

I’m excited to share a new track today ‘Bring Me Home’.  I wrote it quite recently. 2018 was an epic, exciting, exhausting year for me and my brain struggled to keep up.  I had quite a bit of anxiety and frankly, it scared the shit out of me. It was really overwhelming and this song is about that.  It’s ok not to be ok sometimes.

I needed the film clip to be emotional like the song. I wrote this song when I was breaking down so I wanted to portray that in the visual. I can’t act to save my life so I put myself in a hot warehouse on a 36 degree day and drummed for 6 hours straight until I couldn’t anymore to show that real emotion and convey what I was feeling.

This is one of my oldest songs I perform. I wrote it after a big night at Melbourne club Revolver. I used to be a bit of a party animal back in the day before I settled down to take my career seriously. My music is a bit like an open diary. It’s a fun song but it also tells how I was feeling at the time: I got dumped, I was lonely and I was young and dumb.
