3 yrs later this still bangs like a mufucker.

i considered writing something really long winded talking about important issues and shit but i'd rather just explain this track and why i cobbled it together.

for the past year i was involved in a relationship that really started fucking with my priorities and what I thought I should be working on in order to achieve more relevancy or social clout as opposed to what would really make me happy and satisfied. now that i've cleared enough distance mentally to re-examine myself and my desire towards doing creative things, i realized how fucked up and toxic it is to try to work and exist in this kind of headspace. so i've decided to focus on things that make me happy and that I genuinely enjoy doing, rather than thinking about numbers or statistics or trends or any other types of bullshit that doesn't exist.

its kind of sus and escapist but its the only thing that motivates me to make something that I A) genuinely enjoy doing and B) bring positive emotions forward for other people, so I hope you like this track. the rap is taken from yes sir by the pack ft mr. fab, which always reminds me of california and all my friends there. the sample is taken from staple singers' lets do it again, one of my favourite soul songs ever recorded.
