DJ Competition 

Shindig Weekender have teamed up with Ghetto Funk to offer aspiring DJs the opportunity to win a set at this year’s event in the Ghetto Funk Nightclub. The winner will be playing alongside huge acts including: Sugarhill Gang, Furious 5, Stanton Warriors, Krafty Kuts, A.Skillz, Koan Sound, JFB, WBBL, Stickybuds, Featurecast, Father Funk, HongKongPingPong  to name a few…

The Prize:

The first prize winner will get to play at the festival in the Ghetto Funk Nightclub on Friday 26th May. You will be the opening act for this years event and the first person to play in the Ghetto Funk Nightclub in 2017! The winner will also get 2 weekend tickets to the festival and a goodie bag full of stickers, t-shirts, vinyl and some other treats!

I come from 90 hiphop golden age, i collect vinyl from 1994, i scratch every day from 2000 and i love ghettofunk music culture..this djset is

i use a rane ttm56 mixer with an analog stereo delay in send plus barra of barrificio piemontese (handmade scratch mixer) and 2 turntable numark ttx,headshell shure m44-7, 45 adaptor mukatsuku, slipmat dr sukuki, t-shirt coppolella clothing, underwear intimissimi boxer, jeans rvca leo romero, shoer nike sb janoski add italian wine aglianico and bsa artigianal beer, i have some problem with alcool but i sure that i solve this in the future.. don't tell me the playlist because i'm lazy and you can use shazam or other fuckin' app like that, if you don't find a title of a track you can search in the web or deep diggin' and i find out other rare funk unknow bombs,,,peace love and unity in the positive vibration of music culture.

This is my b-boy breakin' tribute to Ghetto Funk's origins and a fair representation of what I'd bring to Shindig; a raw build up of heavy funk breaks and beats to warm up for the weekend ahead.

Recorded in a single evening using 2x Pioneer CDJ1000 Mk3's, a Technics 1210 turntable and Pioneer DJM600 mixer.

Since Shindig weekender is a summer festival and to me these are all about sunshine and laughter, I took that into account. Couple of Latin flavoured Resense 7 inches became an outline for this 102 bpm mix, then it was completed with some feelgood Funky / Latin breaks tunes.

The mix was created using vinyl on 2 x Technics turntable and a Ecler Nuo5 mixer. Plus Audacity for little bit of post production.

I thought very carefully about tune selection in this mix, all tracks selected are NOT produced by any of the other artists playing in the Ghetto Funk Nightclub over the Shindig Weekender 2017. Being a warm up mix its not overly heavy or fast paced, but at the same time its got enough to keep you bouncing with your mates... after all, you could be warming up for the best nightclub and artists out there on the scene!! I feel it represents most aspects of our broad genre and I loved making every minute of it. 
I made this mix using my 2 Stanton CDJS and my Pioneer DJM-750 mixer ONLY, and all tracks were sourced directly from Ghetto Funk Label (thankyou!)
