Pharaoh Dance (Witches Brew)ft Meryem Saci

The On My Grind Entertainment Group is proud to announce the upcoming release of Mat ‘Preach’ Slater’s third studio album entitled Ghetto Pop. 

An independent effort, Ghetto Pop was recorded entirely in Montreal, Canada, where it seen its inception in the Winter of 2011. The album was co-produced, partially recorded and mixed by Ghislain Brind'amour and contains production from MMG affiliate Nuthin But Hits, Mario Sevigny (A Vos Marques Party), Teddy “O.C” Pena (Jessie J) & Oscar Wylde (Scarface). Ghetto Pop is a 9 song urban pop production that blends hip hop, EDM and Caribbean culture into a gritty yet fun and danceable compilation of songs that Preach describes as his best offering yet.   

Already buzzworthy, Ghetto Pop is published through The On My Grind Entertainment Group but feature recordings like Bottles On Me,  I Like Girls & You Got Me SInging which have been non-exclusively licensed & co-published through Crucial Music and/or Mario Sevigny for various features in film and television. So far these records have seen revenue friendly placement on networks such as VH1, A&E, APTN, TVA & DailyBurn.com and have been featured in the Quebec made, Cineplex Odeon released docu-drama Derapages.  

A lifetime in the making, Preach set out to create a urban fusion project that melded all of his favorite childhood sounds and “vibes” from the 80’s and 90’s like the electric pulse of Technotronic, the melodic hype of beenie man and the grimey yet party based energy of Naughty by Nature into an album that didn’t deviate from the basic principles of hip hop music which Preach believes is to gather, move and inform.

Selfishly we can say that the entire album is great, but there are definite stand outs in songs like Let it go where Preach cleverly mixes hip hop musics favorite past time, with an epicly melodic and a widely inclusive hook. Ghetto Pop, the title track, is probably the most entertaining song as far as lyrics are concerned and is accompanied by a funky, up tempo instru that will get most anyone dancing to Mat’s homage to new jack swing. I Like Girls will definitely get women on dancefloors rocking with tongue and cheek lyrics and a dancehall/EDM heavy beat. Finally, dance records like Ain’t Nuthin Wrong & Pharaoh Dance both tap into Mat’s mindset as well as new personal mandate to bring whatever part of the world he touches together through dance!      

Once released, Ghetto Pop will be digitally distributed via Ditto Music and available for purchase on Itunes, Spotify, Amazon and all other major digital music sales platforms.
