"The new face of New Zealand drum n bass"

Ghetto Sunrise have come back hard and heavy with their first full length album. Ghetto Sunrise have departed from the cruisy roots electronic grooves of their debut Ep, One Drop Love, and have come out punching with a hard hitting drum n bass, metal fusion record.

Joel C Blood, the bands orchestrater and producer, says that "Ghetto is comprised of 4 metallers and we felt that it was time to return to our roots and release something with a much harder edge. The self titled debut has it's spacial groove sections but we really just want to pump our fans up with this new release." 

The selft titled record features 10 songs that the band say are reminiscent of Shapeshifter, Pendulum, and Black Sun Empire. The record will smash preconceptions of what New Zealand drum n bass circles have produced to date and Ghetto Sunrise are adamant that the record will appeal as much to metal heads as it will to the disco biscuit generation. 

Ghetto Sunrise also has a welcome new addition to the band, Emma Petera, who sings lead vocals on the bands second single and plays synth and keys for the band. 

Snail Flynn, Ghetto Sunrises drummer, states that "Emma has been a friend of the band since its' inception. She is a killer vocalist and drum n bass fanatic so it just made sense that she came on board and worked with us on this record".

Ghetto Sunrise recorded the record at their private studio and this time round handled all production in house to maintain total control of the project. The band also self produced the first music video for the same reason.

B-Sey, Ghetto bassist, said "This album took a little longer to track and get polished than we anticipated. But this was necessary to ensure that our fan base were getting the very best record we could muster. We are all perfectionists so the record had to be perfect and we believe we have achieved this hands down".

The bands booking agent, Blood Money Touring, are currently booking a nation wide tour for the end of summer to coincide with the release of the first single.

Josh Burt, Ghetto guitarist, says that "Although we love the comforts and the creativity of the studio we just wanna get back out on the stage and drop this epically heavy drum n bass record on the New Zealand public. Ghetto love kicking arse on stage and I can't wait to pump the people up!"

Ghetto Sunrise were signed to Rhythmethod Records in mid 2013 after gaining the attention of Rhythmethod Founder, Peter Baker. Ghetto Sunrise debut at the top of theaudience.co.nz roots/dub charts, with each subsequent single following suit. Ghetto Sunrise spent 2013 touring with reggae/ dub heavyweights 1814 and Three Houses Down. 

The self titled record is to be released on Rythmethod Records, with the first single, Feel Alive, being released in late February.
