Rebirth

'Offshore' is a 6 track electronic album which mixes a variety of different audio sources, including raw sound objects, musical instruments, as well as synthesised material, samples and processed material to form one unified piece of work. The aim of the project was to explore sound creation and synthesis without the confinement of a stereotypical genre title. I researched and used a number of different sound creation methods which I utilised to compose a  varied range of pieces, but while still maintaining a thread of unity linking each track.

A track I created to celebrate Earth Day! Really enjoyed making this one. Found sounds: Waves crashing, leaves crunching, boats rocking, rain pouring, rubble falling, wind blowing, trains rolling, cars moving, doors creaking, birds singing, wood cracking, water bubbling, tree felling, bonfires roaring, earthquakes rumbling, churchbells ringing and icebergs breaking. As well as: double bass, piano, old school drum loops, epiano, acoustic guitar, overblown recorder, celtic harp and vocals from the lovely Roxanne Rodrigues (listen to her solo stuff at http://soundcloud.com/roxanne-rodrigues).
