The title is in reference to life; not unlike a lucid dream, one can decide what will happen next as we adventure through this world. Decide what you want, set your intentions, your focus, plant the seed and every thing else falls into place.

With 8 original tracks, The OriGinALz took an abstract approach to each song and allowed the music to come as it may, rather than a following a set pattern or template. Their multiple talents are showcased throughout the release, with the title track featuring recorded vocals, and 'Abnormal Existence' spotlights original guitar work. With remixes by LabRat and FiLiBuStA, 'Get Lucid' truly lives up to its title, taking you outside of yourself and into another world.

As Oscar Davey-Wraight announced on The Untz Podcast last fall, he is indeed releasing an album this spring. In fact, it's this FRIDAY! The new OPIUO album, Meraki, bursts through the floodgates on his own imprint, Slurp Music, March 21st.

Since we broke the news last fall, it makes sense that we break this brand new collaboration between Davey-Wraight and Beats Antique. "Chubby Putty" pits that bombastic bounce we've come to know and love from OPIUO against the Balkan strings of Beats. Lush, sweeping melodies dance and flutter around these intricate percussive grooves. The interplay between the opposing forces is at times tense, enticing, and above all, filthy. We absolutely can't wait to hear it live.

And lucky Aussies get to enjoy OPIUO in the flesh as he tours his adopted homeland with Dub FX through the end of March and into April (where he'll close out the tour in his real homeland of New Zealand). More information on those dates at dubfxopiuo.com.

Elements is a tribute to alchemy, the transformation of matter. I always believed that sampling has the potential to transform a dusty, forgotten moment into a vibrant landscape of fantastic impossibilities. Music has an alchemic property, transforming silence into song, nothing into something. I chose Fire, Air, Water, and Earth, the four basic element of alchemy, as seeds for these songs. 
The first, Slivers of Light, represents fire, the sun, and the light given by both. Your Ghost, a song dedicated to the memory of my father Tadeusz Menert, signifies the element of air, and the unseen spirits therein. Eventide's two parts embody the duality of water: Part 1 is the turbulent high tide, water's destructive powers, crashing along the shores into Part 2, which sweeps through the lifegiving and cleansing properties, a low tide of sorts. The album closes with Quiet Earth, a song for my mother, Jolanta, as well as the earth that we chisel away at as a species. This song begins with the noise of humanity, with a lone voice cry out "Do you see, just what you mean to me" until the commotion calms, signifying the end of us, a finality, a quiet earth. 
I hope you enjoy what I consider my favorite work so far, remastered and released as a whole, digitally, for the first time ever.
