Ocoeur (Franck Zaragoza) is a phenomenal French electronic and ambient artist who has released five gorgeous and critically acclaimed albums that merge unique sound design with emotive and potent atmosphere.  He's worked on a range of other musical explorations including game and film soundtracks and has shared festival stages with the like of Fennesz, Arovane, uZiq, and Kangding Ray (to name a few). This calming and haunting exclusive mix showcases Ocoeur's aesthetic perfectly and should be ideally listened to on nice headphones with eyes closed. Enjoy.

kick: michigan synthworks sy-05 (b mode)
tick: mi braids (kick mode, high pitch)
chord pad: mi plaits, chord mode. 'harmonics' is sequenced by eloquencer. I manually wiggle the 'timbre' knob. 'morph' moves slowly with a slow lfo from pams. -> into tapographic delay -> into aeverb mk2.
envelopes: o_c piqued, for chord pad and noise sidechain. release time of chord pad envelope is cv-controlled by an external knob using a vca from mi blinds, so I can smear the release as I want.
bass: er301 triangle vco->fold->lpf->vca
noise: er301 white noise->eq3->vca for sidechain

sequencing done with eloquencer.
clocking and further sequencing done by pam's new workout.
all mixed and recorded live using wmd performance mixer.

With his mutilated vocal samples, his creaky basses and his supernatural textures, Ghost Day is inspired by various influences such as the bass music and the experimental pop scene, the icy landscapes of his native Switzerland and the exotic worlds of his masters Amon Tobin and Massive Attack.

After his first EP "Embryo" released in 2016, greeted with a warm welcome by the Fnac and a rework for Datacode's "Wraithmachine" project (MethLab Recordings) in 2017, Ghost Day is finalizing a new EP in the studio that he himself describes as more "colourful".
