metaphors for the muse

So in the midst of the lockdown 2020, rolling in the depths of confusion, joblessness and self-deprecation, I recorded a bunch of songs in an attempt to capture my state of mind having lost my dad just a couple months before and everything that came with.

It was gonna be an album.

I never finished it and eventually ended up scrapping the project all together. For reasons best known to God, I guess. But, the other day, I listened to a collection of my favorite joints from the sessions, and was moved to share.

So here goes. Raw, unmixed and unmastered. Produced entirely by my producer alter ego, Working Boy. The guy dey mad. No cap. But so am I.

I still felt like whatever this was still needed some art for the cover.  So I doodled this real quick, inspired by the unending religious discourse I have with my super christian mother. I doubt she’d see the humor in it. Lol.
