From his early days at remote desert gatherings, to his constant touring of clubs and music festivals with world renowned downtempo sensation Desert Dwellers, his career has traversed many musical styles and genres. Blending world music with cutting-edge sound design, Amani Friend has amassed an enormous catalog between his projects Desert Dwellers, Liquid Bloom, and Variant Field. Traveling the international festival circuit and staying on the road with a jam-packed schedule, AMANI continues to bring his alchemy of ancient-future psychedelia to dance floors around the globe. LuckyMe are very proud to present the second release from Cid Rim – Mute City. 

Continuing with themes from his beautiful self titled debut last year - Mute City finds Austrian producer Clemens Bacher continuing to forge his own emotionally sophisticated electronic music that defies our contemporary classifications. Simply, he doesn’t fit. And there’s some good reason: hailing from Vienna where Bacher was recognized as an prominent young free jazz drummer, tutor and multi-instrumentalist – he was always cultivating the sound of ‘Cid Rim’ bringing a patina of otherworldy musicianship to his progressive electronic hip hop. The chords employed across Mute City are thick, distorted and complex. His background in jazz informs an approach that is perhaps true of all of the LuckyMe artists- there is no rule book here and it’s definitely more fun without one.

Zounds! A midweek treat for the weary psychedelic travelers shackled to desks and manning the meatpacking lines. Perched on the precipice of a massive fall tour complete with a stunning new live show and a gaggle of special guests, Ott has blessed The Untz with unholy water (it stings) and a fancy new single hot off the presses and straight from the laboratory. "Baby Robot" is a lush, symphonic piece oozing with walls of cushy synths and a hypnotic beat that laps up against the ethereal vox like waves on the shore.

The B-Side "Mr. Balloon Hands" is a trippy, broken beat opus riddle with Indian raga scatting and plenty of exotic percussion to get those tired feet moving. Bouncy, buoyant, and ebullient, this cut will push you over onto the safety of the weekend whereupon Ott triumphantly returns to the great state of Colorado with a pair of shows on the 13th and 14th: first at the Mish up near Ft. Collins, and then Boulder bound on Saturday. The rest of the country need not fret, the brand new show hits cities big and small from coast to coast through the month of September and into October with Bluetech, Anomie Belle, Aligning Minds, and many more incredible acts.
